| Bio: | I was born on the heels of Apple’s Think Different campaign in the heart of Jersey. Since then my entire life has revolved around technology. I sought out every single gadget and gizmo I could get my hands on. Past experiences/hobbies have included owning and operating a mobile DJ company, being a swim coach, and of course the computer fix-it guy for my friends and family ... and their friends. Additionally, I have spent time with: a top Japanese electronics company on a product development team, at a SoHo, based advertising firm, a tech magazine, and marketing male targeted personal care brands—amongst other things here and there. While I never envisioned being a writer, that is what you call this, right? I do love innovation, technology, and toys; this is just the best way to explore the great frontier. Oh, and if you can believe it, Doug and I aren’t even related. |

- Min said, off load my 3G (for $280) and buy a 3Gs for $199+tax. Sweet deal.
- So I guess the Pre is safe...until the next round of over-hyped iPhone announcement rumors.
- RE: Light-years ahead? I don't think so. [Appletell]If the 3G can sell for $99 (prob costs $50 or so), the 3GS 16Gb prob cost $90 and sells for $199 -- not to shabby on their margins. I agree with the rest. Great improvements, unfortunately it was all over-hyped, but not light years.
- RE: WWDC Keynote live blog [Appletell]I'm sitting hear eager for the announcements.
- RE: WWDC iPhone rumor round-up [Appletell]Great rumor round-up- loving the spec list
- Great summary!
- RE: E3 2009: Sony's PS3 motion controller [Gamertell]I think this kills the Wii (controller to controller), but I am torn how it fairs with Xbox Project Natal. There is certainty something about holding an actual device that make it feel realistic, but there is also something about just using your body to play a game. I wonder if the eye can support 4 of these (2 per person)
- I use one for my PC and have to say that I find myself really missing the number pad.
- How about some Torrents or P2P files sharing like the old ShareBear and Limewire? Everyone needs free/illegal stuff. (just don't get caught)
- Man are you screwed!
- Really looking forward to this.
- The real question is, should this have been what the original PSP was? Did they ever really need UMD? Also, a SSD/flash drive should help improve battery life too.
- RE: Paving the way for a Verizon Prenis? [Gadgetell]Best headline ever! But I don't see a 'Pre'nis in Verizon's sight...enjoy the Storm
- Very entertaining :)
- When will this be rolled across the entire range? Isn't it the right/green thing to do, to save power wherever possible?
- RE: Online video war: Joost vs. Hulu vs. Sling [Gadgetell]Where would you rank tv.com?
- It is super fast, I am very shocked.
- RE: Apple keyboard concept with iPhone Dock [Appletell]Well keep us posted, we can't wait to see it on the market.
- Sorry about that, it has been fixed.
- RE: Apple keyboard concept with iPhone Dock [Appletell]Stephen, That is a great accessory, but this is something very different. Here you would use your iPhone as an add-on to your computer keyboard -- like the PSP was supposed to be an extra screen for PS3. Keep up the good work and keep us posted with new developments.
- A design like that photoshopped image about really brings the PSP into today's digital landscape. It would be able to once again be considered a personal media device with a decent screen size, digital files, and likely supporting many codecs. Let's see if sony can pull this one off.
- RE: New iPod Shuffle, now with "talkies" [Appletell]How do you skip tracks and use pause/play?
- RE: Hate cases? iPhone slim case showdown [Appletell]I go naked as well
- These may be decent alternatives to Virtual DJ, but Serato Scratch Live is by far worth every penny
- Finally!
- Do you really use Wusthof knives? I'm actually looking for 2 new sets of knives and was looking for a reco.
- RE: AppleTV...Take 3? [Appletell]I have been saying for a while that I see the Mac mini and AppleTV colliding. They may still keep two products out there, but it makes sense for the AppleTV to get beefed up and become a living room computer.
- RE: Apple keyboard concept with iPhone Dock [Appletell]It would be great if the iPhone/iPod Touch could act as extra buttons/functions for the keyboard. Either as a trackpad or drawing tool. If it is sitting there it might as well be put to use.
- RE: Who's on Crack in Tech: 1.16.08 [Gadgetell]Doug really loved that Albert E. head. Weird, I agree.
- RE: A new Appletell design for 2009 [Appletell]@Carlos, yup it is a refresh not a totally new design. We liked what we had, it just needed some updates/improvements. Glad you like it.
- RE: Canova dual display, touch screen notebook [Gadgetell]Bgage - yup I agree, but Apple improved on it.
- RE: A new Gadgetell design for 2009 [Gadgetell]Thanks for catching this bug. We'll get it fixed shortly.
- RE: A new Gadgetell design for 2009 [Gadgetell]Thanks happy new year to you too. Enjoy the site, our upcoming CES coverage, Appletell's Macworld coverage, and some big giveaways right thereafter.
- RE: A new Gadgetell design for 2009 [Gadgetell]Stephen, thanks for the comment. We have removed the quick links to the other sites from the sidebar but may put them into the footer once we finish up that part of the page (we opted to go live and make some final tweaks later on). We also now integrate the most relevant content from Gamertell and Appletell into the main feed of Gadgetell so at time we felt that it was a bit repetitive. At first I too found the white very distracting, but I have begun to get used to it. The funny thing is that our first ever design was very white and then with the past two we have gotten darker and darker -- so we felt it was time to brighten up a bit. The headlines still run down the whole first page. Maybe this will help: -3 headlines up top with the latest breaking Gadgetell news -a box of 3 items of featured content -- sort of the best of the best on Gadgetell -the next 10 articles with headlines, a short excerpt from the post and an image -lastly we have the final rundown of the next 10 headlines -->All in all we have about 20 articles on the page, which accounts to about one day's worth of news (on an average day we do 20 articles) Thanks for the comment!
- RE: How To Tuesday: Hack your Dreamcast [Gadgetell]Sorry, this article was from 2006. It looks like it has been taken offline.
- I made the switch from a desktop to a laptop (about 3 years ago), after 10 years on a desktop. I expected it to be much harder of a transition than it actually was-- but it was the second display that really made it a fantastic decision in the end.
- MS + Danger = things can get very interesting
- RE: Netflix is loose, dates everyone: now TiVo [Gadgetell]This really makes TiVo a killer DVR and a clear reason to ditch that crappy cable-provider box. Way to go Netflix. Now let's start beefing up that downloadable library. Apple, any response from you?
- RE: Apple blows it on October 14th [Appletell]I agree with Kirk.I think we will see the line align come Macworld with the MB Air going to 'brick' with the glass display as well as the 17" Pro. I agree matt screens are nice but it seems that they are out. I also expect the long awaiting Mac mini update (alignment into the Apple TV) will also come at Macworld.
- Actually my bigger question is, how will Sony save the PSP? It seems like a no brainier to give it s 32 or 64GB SSD and add a camera. Touchscreen would be a stretch but seems like the only other addition.
