Bio:

I’m a 15-year-old tech enthusiast, who is passionate about the internet, innovation and Apple. I primarily write for Dabbledoo Media’s Appletell blog, as well as my own personal blog. I am not your typical Mac fanboy - I see both the good and bad aspects in Apple’s products - bringing an unbiased view to the Apple blogosphere. Blogging is a great experience that I enjoy doing, I hope to continue writing for both Appletell and my own blog in the future.

  • RE: Microsoft Messenger 7 released [Appletell]
Sorry John - better late than never I guess. Most users won't have been prompted to update because of Microsoft's lack of an auto updater.
  • RE: ATI Radeon HD 3870 for Mac Pro ships late June [Appletell]
Arnold, both cards are almost equal in performance. Although, in this test: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=547&card2=544# the ATI scored slightly higher. I would go with whichever card is cheapest.
  • RE: iPhone 3G date confirmed? [Appletell]
Cheaper when bought with a plan.
  • RE: New version of Parallels supports Vista SP1, XP SP3 [Appletell]
Good point, rupps. I agree that Boot Camp is in no way as convenient as virtualization. However, Boot Camp is far better if you're on a low-end Mac, or you want to do something more processor or graphics intensive - e.g. play games.
  • RE: Latest iPhone 2.0 firmware has 3G On/Off Option [Appletell]
This was found in 2.0 beta 5, only distributed to developers.
  • RE: iPhone stock running out, 3G right around the corner? [Appletell]
I might just have to get one if they make a 32GB version - my 16GB iPod Touch is running out of space fast. O2's contracts are too expensive at the moment, though. If they can make a lower contract for people that make very few phone calls, it would be a lot better.
  • RE: Mailplane 2.0 public beta [Appletell]
Sorry, I was too carried away writing about Mailplane Beta to actually provide a link to it. You can download it here: http://mailplaneapp.com/download/index.html
  • RE: First Customer Receives their Open Computer [Appletell]
It's strange that Windows XP on my Mac doesn't go through any of those ugly screens - it just goes straight to the Windows logo (which lags a bit).
  • RE: Ten things I hate about the Mac and love about Windows [Appletell]
@David I wasn't referring to your comments, sorry if you were mislead by thinking that. I agree that no OS is perfect, Windows has its flaws too - in my opinion many more so than Mac OS X does.
  • RE: Ten things I hate about the Mac and love about Windows [Appletell]
I knew this article would cause some dispute in the comments. Some people can't face that Mac OS isn't perfect.
  • RE: Review: XtremeMac HDMI Switcher [Appletell]
Jason, thanks for the comment. I completely forgot about interference with the Apple TV's Wi-Fi. Probably not a good idea to have it on top I agree.
  • RE: Rock out with your dock out, hook up lots of stuff to your Mac [Appletell]
They make them for MacBook Pro 15-inch and 17-inch, too: http://www.bookendzdocks.com/Docking_Stations-Docking_Station_for_15_MacBook_Pro_Firewire_800.html
  • RE: Safari 3.1 released [Appletell]
Caju, sorry I took a while to get back to you. I've never actually used Twicetab before, only seen what it does. I guess if closing a tab by clicking anywhere on it is a big feature for you, it won't be missed.
  • RE: California Democrats look to tax iTunes downloads [Appletell]
Andrew, there are plenty of other legal alternatives to iTunes that give you DRM-free MP3s - Amazon being one of them. Also, iTunes isn't the fairest of music stores when it comes to paying artists; although I agree that it's definitely fairer than piracy.
  • RE: Skype 2.7 for Mac released [Appletell]
Louis, iChat will only allow you to video those using AIM on the Windows platform, and only through the AIM official software. All of iChat's extra features also do not work when with a Windows participant.
  • RE: iPod Touch/iPhone Firmware 1.1.4 released [Appletell]
Thanks for the advice, Bruce. I haven't updated my iPod Touch to 1.1.4 either, because I have the 1.1.3 jailbreak; plus there's no major reason to upgrade.
  • RE: Appletell Review: Vuzix iWear AV920 [Appletell]
After a long period of watching (45 minutes or more), your eyes may start to hurt a little. But if you just take a short break every 30 minutes - it's fine. I found video podcasts worked great on it.
  • RE: Safari to receive speed boost in upcoming build [Appletell]
Safari doesn't seem to work with WordPress' editing tools, so I guess Firefox or Camino are your only options. Hopefully future versions of the WebKit engine will have better compatibility.
  • RE: International "Get a Mac" ads are gone [Appletell]
Boxlight - It's interesting that Canada has a different perspective on this. From what I've seen, people in the UK don't really care about Macs. It's most likely the expensive price we have to pay; or it could be just that they don't run any games.
  • RE: 320GB drive upgrade for MacBook & MacBook Pro [Appletell]
Kevin, I think the unique part of these drives is the fact that they are also able to be external hard drives with Firewire/USB interfaces. Thanks for your comment.
