The future of the Macbook Air, and why you shouldn’t buy one…yet
If you’re in need of a new notebook and are considering the Macbook Air, then you should probably consider some key points first. Is the Air worth spending your money on? Should you go for a cheaper alternative such as the Macbook? And just what could the future bring for the Macbook Air?
The Macbook Air is the newest addition to Apple’s notebook line, and it’s arguably the best looking, but there are many reasons why a Macbook Air probably isn’t right for you…yet.
Reasons after the break.
Apple’s MacBook sales rising

A recent NPD report showed that Apple jumped almost two percentage points in U.S. notebook sales during mid-spring. This brings the total to 14.3% market share, which places the Cupertino-based company in fourth place, behind several notebook giants like HP, Gateway and Toshiba.
This jump also reflects the changing nature of Mac users; Apple is now selling more and more notebooks compared to desktops. The recent update to the 13.3-inch MacBooks when down well with consumers, resulting in a sharp increase in sales of the new models. This puts Apple’s sales at 65% year over year, compared to approximately 37% for PC manufacturers.
Apple’s desktop share remained virtually the same, however.
