Another iPhone controller case…from a major accessory manufacturer [update]

by Jake Gaecke on Sep 2, 2008 at 04:33 PM

Belkin JoyPod iPhone controller caseLast week, we reported on the upcoming controller case for the iPhone called iControlPad. The main issue that many—myself included—had with this potentially awesome product is that it seems to only have support with jailbroken iPhones, since Apple has yet to allow any such attachments. Hope is on the horizon though; Touch Arcade has a juicy rumor about another similar controller designed with App Store games in mind.

[Update: We’ve just received an e-mail from the PR Manager at Belkin, and this was apparently news to them as well.

Details (and correction) after the jump.

Belkin’s GoStudio lets you record podcasts onto your iPods

by Arnold Zafra on Jul 11, 2008 at 05:24 AM

Belkin GoStudioBelkin has announced its portable GoStudio device, which lets you record audio content onto your iPod and have it shared with your blog readers, Facebook or MySpace friends. The GoStudio is a pretty simple device which lets you dock your iPod, then connect it onto your PCs to enable you to upload your recorded Podcasts, interviews, music, and short audio clips to iTunes.

In addition, the Belkin GoStudio lets you record directly to your iPod in 16-bit 44kHz digital audio quality, play back your recordings from your iPod through GoStudio’s built-in speakers, and directly monitor your iPod’s volume control. It comes with two combo microphone inputs, a 3.55mm mini-jack microphone input, two built-in omnidirectional stereo microphones, and a tripod mount.

The GoStudio will be available sometime in September/October with an SRP of $119.99.

Belkin TuneCast Auto with ClearScan for iPhone and iPod
Remember the iPod Classic? Hey, me too! Awesome! We should hang sometime!

With all the warranted ferver surrounding the iPhone 3G and its little sidekick, the iPod Touch, the iPod that actually, you know, has enough disk space for a respectable music collection, has been nearly forgotten by the press and many Apple users…and sometimes, I think, even Apple itself. Thankfully, third party developers are well aware of the iPod Classic and its user base, and continue to release some pretty cool products.

Such a product is Belkin’s TuneCast Auto with ClearScan for iPhone and iPod ($79.99). Find out why after the break.

Help fight breast cancer

by Marvin Sum on Sep 12, 2007 at 10:06 AM

iPod Nano Hope

So you might’ve bought an iPod (RED) to help fight AIDS in Africa. But did you know you could also help fight breast cancer too? Belkin has brought out new “Hope” iPod Nano cases, colored in pink to celebrate women’s empowerment and strength.

According to the press release, these products will only be available in the U.S. on 2nd September. The good news is, the company will donate $2.50 from every “Hope” case to the Komen for the Cure (with a minimum guaranteed donation of $225,000).

Strangely enough, none of the “Hope” cases support Apple’s newest 3rd generation iPod Nano. Hopefully we’ll see some of those soon.
