That’s right, iPhone hackers have managed to obtain write access to the handset’s filesystem. This is a major step in the quest to free the iPhone, from its evil masters: Apple and AT&T.

Write access to the file system gives rise to all sorts of possibilities. Savvy users can replace wallpaper, ringtones and even icons, as demonstrated. ModMyiPhone has a full list of instructions to get you started, but keep in mind this will surely void your warranty, so experiment at your own risk.
