The seven most pointless and worst iPhone apps

Worst iPhone apps
Appletell’s been doing a weekly roundup of the free iPhone apps and some spotlights on various apps, and most of them have received good reviews. What about those plain awful ones that make you laugh out loud about how bad or useless they are?

Here’s a list of my seven most pointless and/or worst iPhone apps available today:

Take Me To My Car - An app using GPS, this one locates where you got out of your car and tells you…how to get back to it later?

Hold On! - Productivity app, people! Not. What claims to be a productivity app is actually an application where you’re asked to touch an on screen button and hold on it for as long as possible. “...improve your concentration skills to make you more productive!” Or just waste as much time as possible.

Colour Tilt - Tilt your iPhone and the colours change, shake to erase or erase it all with your finger! Or adjust the opacity and thickeness of the line you drew, or don’t show this to your boss or he’ll really think the Blackberry is better for work than the iPhone!

iBeer and iMilk - This app uses the proximity dector to simulate drinking beer or milk. With features like bubbles, burping sounds, shake (foam) and brew, this might prevent underage drinking. Drink the beer and you’ll see some bubbles on the screen, but seriously, this is too cool to just describe with words… here’s a video.

SimStapler - SimCity, the Sims, Zoo Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon and a bunch of other simulation games, but what happened to stapling? Coming first to the iPhone, SimStapler lets you simulate real life stapling. Oh, and sorry to disappoint, that’s about all it does.

Cow Toss - Grr, I’m really having trouble coming up with a comment for this one; the title says it all! You drag a cow, and it gets tossed in the air, what else do you want?

most pointless and worst iPhone apps

r u drunk? - Packed with five tests and a Blood Alcohol Content Calculator, it has good intentions, but instead sends out the message “Don’t drink and download bad apps!”

Well, that concludes our list for the most pointless and worst iPhone apps. If you’ve got any others, fire off in the comments.

The WooHoo button, however hilarious, is probably the most pointless app I can think of.  All it is is a big button that, when pushed, makes a loud exclamation of WOOHOO!

Take me to my car sounds pretty useful actually… Especially in a huge parking lot/garage setting.

And although SimStapler is pointless, that’s…well…the point. It’s a throwback to a joke app of the Mac OS Classic days (hence the “desktop” image in the background). Kind of funny, really.

How about all the election apps?  They are all pretty useles, and will be obsolete in another month.

    @Karate Kid:
Please erase your comment, coming from Naperville, IL is not an excuse for blatant ignorance. Just think of me, I am Mexican, live in Mexico, I am 15 years old and I am far more interested in the elections than you. I guess there are not that many good schools nor colleges, nor parents near you.

Um.. he has a point. In a month’s time, these apps will serve no purpose, and most are pretty useless. He never said anything about the elections being useless, and a personal attack isn’t warranted.

“Take Me To My Car” should NOT be in this list. I personally use it and find it both user-friendly and effective. Yes, you can drop a pin in Maps, but it takes too long and does not give you walking directions. Plus, this app displays exact precision and distance, and it’s way more effective than a circle in the Maps.
