Recently, Apple Inc. started distributed songs without copy protection at it’s online music store. But, are users aware of whether the songs purchased are actually 100% DRM-Free? According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the online consumer rights group added it had recognized a large amount of unaccounted users’ information which includes your name and email addresses in iTunes files.
Apple was unable to comment to why they leave information exposed. As stated by Michael Gartenberg, an analyst, he didn’t think Apple planned to use personal information as a tracking tool but more for retaining a proof of purchase.
