Unified Marble user interface to appear in Mac OS X Snow Leopard?

by Josh Holat on Jan 14, 2009 at 09:45 PM

Snow LeopardApple’s new version of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, promises to bring some exciting overhauls to the back end of the Mac OS as we know it today. However, on top of all of this back end stuff, it now also appears as if Snow Leopard will sport a brand new interface across all of the Apple apps, giving Mac OS X a completely unified look. This user interface, which Apple has internally codenamed Marble, will bring about some small changes to the original Aqua theme that we can see in applications like iTunes.

Apple’s attention to detail and outstanding front end to their operating system never ceases to amaze me. The overall look of the applications and Finder windows are sleek enough that they provide a streamlined interface, yet they still remain unobtrusive and non-distracting to the overall work environment. If Apple makes this overall interface theme even better, I think both veteran users and new users will have even more of a reason to stick with the Mac OS.
