Tweetie for Mac released, just as great as on the iPhone

by Josh Holat on Apr 20, 2009 at 04:58 PM

Tweetie For MacPossibly the most exciting piece of software for the Mac in a while, atebits has released his long awaited Tweetie client for the Mac.  As I’m sure you know, Tweetie started off as an iPhone Twitter app where it saw enormous success and enjoyment from its users. Therefore, moving it to the Mac was the perfect idea, in my opinion. The application is currently available from the atebits site (which surprisingly hasn’t gone down all day despite being a trending topic on Twitter), and comes in two versions; the free version obviously costs no money, but does display ads (although there is an option to turn them off). The paid version currently costs $14.95, but after May 4th, 2009, it will jump up to $19.95.

Current features include the ability to log in with more than one account, and to your tweets, direct messages, and @replies with a nice, clean interface. There is also built-in support for URL shortening using a variety of services, as well as built-in support for tweeting and viewing images. As with many Twitter clients, you can search trending topics and read user profiles as well.

I highly suggest you check it out and support atebits as a developer. Also be sure to check out our Twitter apps for iPhone and Macintosh round-up.
