Well, no. Of course not. Do you think Nintendo would allow such a thing? But if the developer comments and preview video are any indication, it looks as if Across Age may very well be close enough to Hyrule to make Zelda fans feel right at home. Across Age is a co-production between mobile veteran FDG Entertainment and the renowned Japanese developer Exe Create, and is being billed as the “...first true console like Japanese Action RPG on the Apple AppStore.”
From the press release:
Alpha Age promises over 15 hours of play time, carried by an exciting story that crosses “...tons of diversified locations, monsters and riddles.” All of this will be displayed in iPhone / iPod touch optimized HD graphics and enhanced with “... sweeping soundtrack/SFX ...” But there’s no reason to take our word for it. Check out the video below.
That looks to be about as close to A Link to the Past as you can get without being…well…The Minish Cap, and it’s close enough to have us very excited about this release. We’ll be closely following the progress of Across Age, so check back at Appletell often for development updates as we get them.
