The Apple Brick, you couldn’t hope for much more than this

I’m going to start laying a wall with all these bricks I’ve been stumbling over for the past few days. I don’t mind though. If there’s one thing that gets me excited, it’s Apple rumors, and I bet you’re the same way.
Cult of Mac has a great article about what they, and I, want the Apple Brick to be. Be forewarned, this is just a dream. To the best of my knowledge, this is not even a rumor.
The article details a device, with pictures from a concept of the OLPC version 2 by Yves Behar, that is similar in some respects to a standard ultra portable laptop. It would open like a standard laptop, run a version of OS X, and have an Apple logo. But that’s where the similarities end.
After opening the laptop, you get two screens. One in a familiar place, and the other where the keyboard used to be. The keyboard replacing screen functions as a keyboard when necessary. This would take some getting used to, considering that the keys would not raise up from the screen, similar to the way the iPhone works. But Apple is used to intelligently correcting keyboard input, so maybe that’s not a big deal. The screen would be multitouch, so, unlike a PC, you aren’t limited to just one finger, if you get my drift.

If you don’t wish to use the ultraportable as a standard laptop, you have other choices. Rotate the device to portrait, and you have the world’s best, most natural, ebook reader. With two screens, it’s just like reading a real book. Alternatively, open the laptop a little more, and you have two screens that more or less function as one. This could open the door for a ton of great tablet features. And since both support multitouch, apps and games could be made for two users, in tabletop mode.
The possibilities are endless really. And the reason they are endless is because this is but a dream. But I believe that Apple has the ability to make dreams come true. So, what do you say Apple? Will you make my dream come true?

What do you think of this concept? I know I’d buy it, but would you? What features would it have to have? Or maybe price point concerns you more? Who knows, you might even have a completely different dream product from Apple. Let us know.
