Folks, this isn’t an SDK app, so you don’t have to wait until July 11th. This live streaming application for Sirius Satellite Radio, called uSirius, is available right now through Installer.app. Although this application obviously doesn’t communicate directly with satellites to bring you the music, it can be reached through Wi-Fi, EDGE, or even HSDPA for when the iPhone 3G comes out. There is a free, three day trial available, but then it is going to cost you to get your streaming tunes.
With the SDK release right around the corner, it will be interesting to see if Sirius, XM, or both release their very own satellite radio application for the iPhone. With the new 3G data speeds, it may be easier to stream music to the iPhone since the slow EDGE network will be a non-factor (if you live in a area where 3G is available). If either of them do, it will definitely be a cool application for the iPhone.
