Steve Jobs rumored to be extremely focused on tablet

Steve Jobs

According to the Wall Street Journal, “people familiar with the situation” have said that the 54-year-old Steve Jobs has been spending much of his time working with the new touch screen gadget device that Apple is cooking up. Furthermore, one person working on the product’s advertising and marketing strategy said that they are under intense scrutiny from Steve Jobs himself. While rumors of the “iPad” have been heating up recently, some stories have been published saying the rumors are simply rumors and the product doesn’t exist. There is evidence both ways, and it will be extremely interesting to see if Apple has any news about this in their September event.

While I personally don’t think Apple will make any announcements of this device at their upcoming music and iPod event, I do believe we will see it one day. The market for a tablet is somewhat small at this point, but Apple has always done well by first introducing an overpriced product to a niche market. From there, the product explodes into the general consumer base. We’ll see if this rumored product becomes as popular as the iPhone.

I use to have an Apple 17” laptop that I purchased last year. I found out it was very costly to upgrade, and that you could only use apple hardware for your upgrades. Also the cost of Apples software was quite expensive and so was their hardware. The laptop I had was not as fast as other laptops in the same price range. Apple really needs to drop some of its prices on these laptops and desktops. Apple upper management really needs to wake up and keep up with what is going on into todays technical market. When windows 7 hits the market on October 22,2009,with touch screen technology see what Apple has to offer? I bet it won’t be much! I suggest anyone thinking to buy an Apple laptop or desktop computer hold off until December and see what the other computers companies come out with?
