Many people who bought the MacHeist bundle thought that they were guaranteed future updates for at least the next version of the apps - as it turns out - this may not be the case. The MacHeist team aren’t entirely to blame though, because apparently the developer, YazSoft, has the right to choose whether their next software update is chargeable or not. Seeing as this version of Speed Download does look very promising with a lot of new features, I think it probably is worth the extra $15. But, of course, you should try the demo first; to see if you really need to pay $15 for the new features.
Speed Download 5 is $25 and a demo is available. Upgrades from version 4 (MacHeist) are $15. Yazsoft is also running a new promotion designed to “switch” users from other download managers/FTP clients to Speed Download, people that participate in this promotion receive Speed Download for $15, too.
