Sega to fix Super Monkey Ball controls [Rumor]

by Jake Gaecke on Aug 14, 2008 at 10:59 PM

Super Monkey Ball IconFirst they hype up Super Monkey Ball as being the perfect game for the iPhone platform. Heck, it has accelerometers, and it’s like controlling the surface that the monkey rolls on. Sounds great! So, then you buy it and play the first level. I can hear it now. “The controls suck!” Sound familiar?

MTV Multiplayer Blog is reporting that they can confirm that SEGA is working on a patch for the controls that many of us have come to dislike. Furthermore, the rumored patch is said to be imminent. So for the 300,000 or so of you out there that have already purchased Super Monkey Ball, rest easy, for SEGA can feel the frustration as you fall off the platform again and again and again…

SEGA is supposedly working with Apple on the patch as you read this, but no ETA is given.

I think this is a little late, but better late than never. I’ve had SMB since the day the App Store opened, and I’ve barely played it because the controls are so frustrating, or maybe I’m just that bad. Either way, I’m looking forward to said patch.
