Sources close to Apple have reportedly told Mac Scoop that the next iteration of iLife has already gone “Golden Master”. This means that a final release copy has been completed and is awaiting high-volume production and distribution. No word about iWork, or whether it will be named iLife ‘07 or iLife ‘08. Calling it the latter will make more sense; there are just six more months till 2008.
I have no idea how accurate this is, but given all the buzz and hype surrounding the iPhone, any other sort of Apple news is certainly welcomed. I highly doubt that Apple will release this before Leopard, or before any of the new iMacs or MacBooks that we can expect in the next few months. Apple’s iLife and iWork suites are usually released in January at MacWorld, so this year’s delay is rather unusual.
