MacBook AirPhonenews.com may not be the most appropriate site to be spreading this rumor, but we can’t discount the fact that it still is a reputable site that won’t spread rumors which have no certain extent of possibility to it. Anyway, the site is reporting that a new MacBook Air’s release is imminent, even citing that national retailers are being alerted to prepare for the upgrade. As this is a non-disclosure announcement, Phonenews.com could not disclose their source.

For those who are raring to know what this rumored new MacBook Air has in store for all of us MBA fanatics, we have reason to rejoice; the rumored upgrade is said include the lower voltage processor Penryn-class Core 2 Duo which, aside from conserving power, would also enable the MacBook Air have a 2.0GHz and and higher processor. And to resolve the potential problem that such computing power would bring, said new MacBook Air would have a higher capacity battery.

Additionally, the rumored MacBook Air will sport almost the same internal components of the current model, but with increased hard drive capacity of as much as 160GB thanks to the declining price of 1.8-inch hard drives.

Now that the rumor has been outed, it’s time for Apple to do its part; make it official, folks!
