PC World has put the iPhone and the new Blackberry Storm in a cage match to determine which is the best mobile phone/mobile web platform. The winner? Well, like Godzilla vs. King Kong, it depends on which version you see*.
Because, in the end, PC World wusses out and prints two different articles, both of which list eight reasons why either the Storm or the iPhone trounces the other. In all honesty, though, the pro-Storm article is kinda lame because it was written just as the Storm was coming out, and they’re basing their assumptions on what the Storm will probably be like based on other Blackberry devices:
The rest of the article comes down to things like expandability, replaceable batteries, and modem tethering (rumored to be coming soon for iPhone), things which would be absolutely essential for some users. The article about choosing the iPhone, however, details the experience of someone who’s spent time with the device:
It also lists the lack of replaceable batteries and memory as a good thing. But since they haven’t had much of a hands-on experience with the storm, the whole debate has the feel of an imaginary fight between the iPhone and something that maybe, kinda, could be a contender. Which is the basis of all great nerd battles.**

*Yes, I know there weren’t really two versions of the film. Regardless, Godzilla would have totally kicked King Kong’s butt in a real fight.
*Who would win, the iPhone riding a Pegasus or a Mickey Mouse handset wielding Thor’s Hammer? Go!
