Searching for a decent Mac games these days may be a dark decent of its own, but Fricitional Games, creators of the Penumbra series, wants to make it even scarier. Today, the company is offering gamers their first look at actual in-game footage from their brand new horror game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, due in August for the Mac, PC and Linux. They’re pre-orders now, and if they hit 2,000 by May 31st, the game will get extra content.
The game is now up and running on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. All platforms have participated in the recent testing session and performed over expectations. Frictional is pleased to announce the game will get a simultaneous release on all platforms.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent has an estimated release date of August 2010, and will retail for $20 US. Pre-orders for the digital download are being accepted now at the discounted rate of $16. A boxed version for retail release is also planned, and information will be released as it becomes available.
