Nullriver MediaLink for PS3

by Stephen Chinnadorai on Jan 10, 2008 at 09:00 AM

PlayStation 3Streaming your Mac’s media files from your XBOX 360 has been a breeze ever since Nullriver released Connect360 - the software that simply bridges the gap between your Mac and your 360.

I have a PS3, and I was saddened when I found Nullriver did not have a client for the PS3. Sure, there were alternatives like TwonkyVision and EyeConnect - but these weren’t dedicated to the Playstation, and therefore there were compatibility issues. I’m glad to see that Nullriver have released what is, for me anyway, a long-awaited product: MediaLink for PS3.

Very similarly to Connect360, it allows you to stream music, photos and videos from your Mac to your PS3. And with the latest firmware update for the PS3, you can play a wider range of formats including DivX (the format used for many TV shows).

Obviously, as this is in beta,  there are bugs on both the PlayStation side and the Mac side. It costs just $20 and is available from Nullriver’s website. A demo is also available that gives you 30 minutes of streaming.
