One of our readers has alerted us to the possibility that the new 17” MacBook Pro, announced earlier this month at Macworld Expo 2009, now has a shipping date of February 11, 2009. Previously, his order status had stated it would ship in “two to three weeks.” At the Apple Store, the pre-order claims it will ship in 7 to 10 days.
The 17” MacBook Pro now includes the precision aluminum unibody enclosure, illuminated keys, and both the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT graphic cards featured in the 15” MacBook Pro model. Perhaps the biggest features, however, is the inclusion of a built-in battery that allows up to eight hours of wireless connectivity. Prices for the 17” MacBook Pro start at $2,799.00.
