Although I don’t really see this being a very useful app on my iPhone, and to most others, I am sure there are some out there who could get a lot of use out of NASA’s new iPhone app. It was developed by the New Media Team at NASA Ames Research Center and is full of features. For anyone who is interested in NASA’s space missions and other related information, this is definitely an app to check out, especially since it’s free of charge.
When you open the app, you’ll see a list of current and future NASA missions, and along the bottom are buttons for missions, images, videos, and updates (which are decently current and often include links to related videos). Users of the app have reported that downloading videos over WiFi instead of 3G results in much better app performance.
