More evidence that iPod touch was a hit this holiday season

by Patrick Lutz on Jan 8, 2009 at 01:39 PM

AdMob on iPhoneThere’s new evidence that the iPod touch has sold a lot of units this holiday season, which is specifically the amount of ads reported to be viewed from an iPod touch, and the number has apparently skyrocketed. According to AdMob—a popular mobile advertising network which focuses a lot on the iPhone and iPod touch—they served 292 million ads to iPod touch devices in December, up 3.4x from November, when it displayed only 86.4 million ads to iPod touches.

I realize this doesn’t exactly mean that iPod touch ownership tripled, but it is still evidence that iPod touch ownership probably has gone up quite immensely, which is especially good for Apple during this time of economic crisis. The iPod touch is certainly a great mobile device, and buying one is a great investment, in my personal opinion, and I do hope its sales continue to rise in the future, especially when the newest generation of the device is released.
