Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter coming…from MonoPrice

That’s where MonoPrice.com comes in. You may already know MonoPrice.com as the go-to place to cheap quality cables online. According to MacYourself, they will be releasing a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter this January. This will simplify things for new Mac owners who want to connect their computers to HDTVs. And since MonoPrice is known for great prices on cables, you can probably expect a lower than Apple adapter price. This could turn out to be a hot seller if that Mac Mini materializes at Macworld. I’ll take one of each please!
[Update: The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is now scheduled to ship on March 15th, 2009.]

“Either way, the only real conversion happening is dollars to cables.”
Got to be my quote of the day!
on December 16, 2008 at 08:36 AM - LINKSo if you already have a Mini Displayport to DVI, why would you buy a Mini Displayport to HDMI rather than a DVI to HDMI for the same price? You can get a cheap DVI to HDMI cable or converter from multiple sources easier than getting a Mini to HDMI. I can see it if you currently don’t have any connectivity to the Mini but that’s about the only benefit over current solutions that work fine.
