Mariner announces Contour screenplay structure software

Do you have a great idea for a movie, but don’t know how to turn it into a screenplay that makes any sense? Well, that’s never stopped those fellows who make the Saw movies, and now it doesn’t need to stop you, either, thanks to Mariner’s Contour screenplay structure software.
Contour is a proven story development system that streamlines the process of turning your movie ideas from first glimmer to full outline. Using the Contour story development system created by Emmy Award-nominated Jeffrey Alan Schechter, you will learn how to use the same character-based structure that nearly all the blockbuster movies use to create solid stories that hold together from Fade In to Fade Out.
No idea who Jeffrey Alan Schechter is? Me neither, but I looked him up in IMDB and saw that he wrote Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-Lot...sooooooo, he must be really good for anyone to take him seriously with that on his resume, right?
Plus, Mariner has a history of releasing fantastic software for writers, including the Mariner Writer word processor, Montage screenwriting program (with which Contour will integrate after a forthcoming update is released), and StoryMill novel writing program. They’ve also recently launched the WritersPub social network site to build a community of writers around their software. Mariner is one of those rare companies who actually seem to take interest in what their customers are doing with their software, and Contour covers yet another part of the writing process.

Some of Contour’s features include:
- Flesh out a main character and codify their motivations and behaviors.
- Quickly recognize archetypes which protagonists journey through in all the top movies.
- Go from concept to bulletproof outline in less time than ever before.
- Learn a flexible yet exact plot point and beat structure that works for all genres.
- Seamlessly transfer a concept into popular screenplay writing software such as Montage.
- Develop a compelling logline.
Now, if they could just release “Guaranteed Agent Finder,” we’d be all set.

Hey, Kirk:
Trust me, I also made fun of myself for writing Care Bears…until the check cleared. ;)

Actually, I’m hoping you got your Emmy(s) for your work on Tales from the Dark Side. That show used to scare the bejeezus out of me.
