Macintosh Portable Announced, Super lightweight

by Stephen Chinnadorai on Apr 1, 2008 at 08:30 AM

Macintosh PortableToday, Apple has revolutionized computing - forever. In a new league of personal computing, the Macintosh Portable is a super-light, ultra-thin and stylish portable computer. The Macintosh Portable features a blazingly fast 16 MHz Motorola 68000 CPU, 1MB of RAM as standard (upgradable to 9MB), and Mac OS 6.0.4. The Portable’s light form factor means that it weighs a mere 15.8 pounds (7.2 kilograms) - the lightest of any computer available on the market today. A full sized keyboard is provided, so you can type wherever you are. The battery life is an astonishing 10 hours - blowing away the competition. It also includes the latest standard in removable media: A floppy disk drive. An optional internal hard disk drive is available, a great option for those who have dozens of text documents to store.

The Macintosh Portable looks promising, and at a price of just $6,500, who could go wrong? Could this be the future of personal computing? I think so - it really doesn’t get any better than this.
