Macintosh

  • LANrev 5.2 has added Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility to allow IT professional to roll out Snow Leopard with less man power and less interruption to end-users. LANrev 5.2 tracks and maintain Snow Leopard for asset inventory, theft recovery, lowering energy usage and OS patching. LANrev’s OS deployment shortens the time to upgrade multiple machines to Snow Leopard and minimizes end-user interruption during the migration process.
  • BEEDOCS has announced that Bee Docs Timeline 3D software for Mac OS X will support built-in integration with Basecamp by 37signals. The new feature comes as part of the v2.9 release which is free to existing customers from the BEEDOCS website. Basecamp integration joins a host of Mac applications that Bee Docs Timeline 3D integrates with including iTunes, iCal, and iPhoto by Apple, The Hit List by Potion Factory, and Things by Cultured Code.
  • Yazsoft has released a major new update to ShareTool. Developed for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, ShareTool is an award winning utility that lets you connect to all of the Bonjour services on your home or office network from anywhere in the world securely over a 100% SSH encrypted connection. This includes iTunes Music Sharing, Screen Sharing, File Sharing, printing, and much more. No configuration. No complication. No server or technical skills required. Just a mouse click.
  • Macvide has announced FlashVideo Converter 3.4, an update to its professional Flash to Video conversion utility for Mac OS X. The FlashVideo Converter is a powerful and versatile program for converting any flash video file to one of many popular video formats including iPhone/iPod mp4, Mobile 3gp and MPEG2. FlashVideo Converter able to convert all FLV and SWF files with ActionScript support.
  • Kerlmax LLC has announced Sharpshooter 1.1, an update to their popular screenshot taking utility for Mac OS X. Featured in the Macworld Mac Gems Superguide, Sharpshooter is a background application that displays screenshots as you take them with Mac OS X’s built-in key combinations and lets you rename and move them while they are still fresh on your mind. Version 1.1 adds full support for Snow Leopard. Never again will you have a bunch of generically named pictures cluttering your desktop.
  • A new version of the multilingual dictionary, TranslateIt! 11 has been released for Mac OS X. TranslateIt! now offers full Snow Leopard support. TranslateIt! for Mac is a multilingual dictionary that allows you to look up words on the fly. Hover the pointer over an unfamiliar word and you will see its translation in a pop-up window. Version 11 offers full 64-bit environment support, Wikipedia searching is added, and a lot of improvements and fixes.
  • DEVONtechnologies, LLC has released the seventh public beta of version 2.0 of all editions of its information manager DEVONthink as well as of the smart note-keeper DEVONnote. The new release adds full PDF annotations, smart templates, and simple image editing to DEVONthink, and brings compatibility to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to all editions. In addition, the updates make DEVONthink Pro Office’s Mail plugin, the OCR, and the scan functions work on Snow Leopard.
  • Group Logic has announced the availability of ExtremeZ-IP 6.0.2, which is certified for use with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.   • Maintain has announced Cocktail 4.5.1 (Snow Leopard Edition), the latest maintenance update of Cocktail for users running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. It addresses an issue in which Cocktail may not launch on 32-bit only Macs, addresses an issue in which Cocktail was unable to search for corrupted preference files, adds Mac OS X 10.6.1 compatibility and contains other minor improvements and bug fixes discovered in the previous version.
  • Creaceed has announced Prizmo 1.1, an image processing application that enables digital camera owners to scan any document. Based on customer feedback, Creaceed integrated the highly accurate OCR engine from ExperExchange Inc., into Prizmo, and released a user-friendly and reliable application for Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Mac users can really do without a scanner, even more now. Using a digital camera for scanning documents is an easy way to save room and money.
  • Objective Decision, LLC. has announced the release of Contactizer 3.8, their popular Business Manager for Mac OS X. Version 3.8 is a major upgrade that includes powerful new features to manage your professional life. Contactizer 3.8 mainly sports full 10.6 compatibility, the capability to subscribe to online ICS calendars, a better Projects / Tasks integration, a new filter bar and many other user interface enhancements expanding your productivity.
  • Karelia Software has released Sandvox 1.6.4, an update to its award-winning website design software for Mac OS X. Version 1.6.4 is a free update and provides full compatibility with Snow Leopard. Sandvox 1.6.4 responds to a recent change in Amazon’s API, and has been localized to Brazilian Portuguese. Developed with individuals, families, students, schools, and small businesses in mind, Sandvox features drag-and-drop website assembly, live editing, and much more.

iPhone/iPod

  • Sauce Digital has announce that Nano Rally’s much anticpated update has reached the App Store. Nano Rally is a fun, beautiful and addictive top down driving game in which you drive miniaturized cars around various tracks, all based on different household environments, to see what time you post. One minute, you could find yourself power-sliding around the end of a spring onion, then falling off a precariously balanced ruler the next.
  • KB Productions has announced Car Care 1.30, a new version of the popular gas mileage and automotive maintenance tracking solution for the iPhone. Fuel economy is automatically calculated for iPhone and iPod Touch users, using miles or kilometers, gallons or liters. Version 1.30 adds full map integration, ‘reset’ functionality for missed fills, improved email export, and more help for first-time users.
  • TuneWear has announced that it is now shipping a new collection of protective cases for the 5th generation iPod nano. New cases include IceWear, TuneShell, TuneShell Starter Kit and ColorShell Starter Kit, all made for iPod nano 5G. TuneFilm protective film has also been updated to fit iPod nano 5G.
  • Vela Design Group has announced MagicHour 1.4.6 for iPhone and iPod touch. MagicHour is a world clock with unique features and an easily configurable user interface. Users can quickly display the time of sunrise, sunset, dawn and dusk for three kinds of twilight (civil, nautical, astronomical), moon phase and tilt, and much more. MagicHour is invaluable to iPhone and iPod touch users who travel or communicate with friends and colleagues around the world.
  • Artificial Life, Inc., and Starz Media, today announced the launch of Pandorum—the official movie game for the upcoming horror film of the same name from Overture Films—on the iPhone and iPod touch platform, which is now available in the App Store retailing at $3.99.

  • In response to overwhelming customer demand, ShoZu has added a number of significant capabilities to its award-winning social media hub over the past several weeks. One of the most requested upgrades is for ShoZu video users, who now have greater upload capability. With just one click, video users can upload 60MB of video from iPhones and 50MB of video from other mobile phones to all of the upload destinations configured on their ShoZu account.  Previously, video uploads were limited to 10MB.
