Macintosh

  • Can all the classic games in Mac history be compiled into a 3:30 minute video? Of course they can! Now with appropriately funky music.
  • Zeroonetwenty has announced Jar 1.1 an update to its automated cookie management software for Mac OS X. Implemented as a Preference Panel for OS X, Jar ensures that the only cookies kept on your Mac are from sites in your browsers bookmarks or history. Version 1.1 extends its browser support to now include Mozilla Firefox in addition to Safari. By using browser history and bookmarks as the heart of cookie management Jar is able to make cookie management trivial.
  • Norbert M. Doerner has released MP3-Info 2.0. MP3-Info is a companion designed to integrate with Apples Finder and iTunes, helping to view and organize music libraries. Version 2.0 now runs as an application in Snow Leopard, and displays all relevant audio tags, such as cover art, lyrics, album, artist, or comments. It now offers a fast connection to search for similar songs in the popular media cataloger CDFinder, and can rename song files based on their tags.
  • Jumsoft has released Keynote Animations FX 7.0, an update to its selection of products for Apple’s Keynote. This set presents 100 exciting animated images suitable for any occasion, including 30 brand-new additions that feature superb animation quality and spectacular creativity. The animations can easily be applied to any slide, as well as effortlessly positioned, blended, mixed, overlaid, underlaid, and much more.
  • Zevrix Solutions has announced InPreflight 2.6.12, a compatibility update to its quality control, packaging automation and file info reporting solution for Adobe InDesign. InPreflight goes well beyond the InDesign basics helping graphics and print professionals uncover hidden problems, save disk space through smart auto-packaging, save and print graphic reports, and reduce production time and costs. The new version introduces compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
  • Indev Software has released three updates for its Mail plugins: MailTags and Mail Act-On. Mail Act-On 2.1.4 is a maintenance release for all Mail Act-On 2 users. It remedies minor issues and add Dutch localization. MailTags 2.3.1 is a maintenance release for all MailTags 2 users who work on Leopard Mail. It remedies several issues, particularly with keyword management. MailTags Snow Leopard Compatibility Release 3 is a critical release, fixing numerous stability and functionality problems.
  • Zelda Rubinstein, the eccentric medium from Poltergeist, wants to help you rid your house of the fright-inducing ancient technology that may be haunting your home—just in time for Halloween. Frightening gadgets, like tape-eating VCRs, TVs that send a shock through fingers when touched and 10lb laptops that take a toll on the shoulder are prime suspects of Scary Technology and should not be brushed aside. Beginning October 5 through October 26, 2009, consumers can submit photos of their most fear-inducing technology to www.ScaryTechnology.com, accompanied by a 140-character caption to help bring their photo to life.
  • In Mastering Digital Panoramic Photography (Rocky Nook, $34.95 USD) you will find everything you need to know to create amazing panoramic images. Author Harald Woeste takes the reader on a tour from the basics of capturing panoramas, all the way through stitching, editing, and printing panoramic images. He provides a detailed description of the necessary equipment and materials, as well as the various software tools that can be used in the workflow.
