Macintosh

  • Aimersoft Studio’s has announced their new release, Aimersoft iSynK for Mac, offering full support for iTunes 9.0. It also supports iPhone 3GS 3.0. Aimersoft iSynK for Mac will convey audio and video files from iPod or iPhone to iTunes; making it possible to backup your music and video files when you download music directly from the iPod touch or iPhone. Aimersoft iSynK for Mac provides stable and safe audio and video copies and transfers between the Mac and the iPod/iPhone without damaging any of your files.
  • D-Zed Software has announced Dragon Stop Motion 2.0, an update to their professional level, stop motion animation solution for Mac OSX and Windows. Designed specifically to meet the needs of feature film, commercial, broadcast television and independent film, Dragon Stop Motion controls digital still and HD cameras for shooting single frame animation and effects. Version 2.0 sports many new improvements and is a recommended upgrade for all customers.
  • BKeeney Software has released Task Timer 4.1.8, a maintenance update to its time tracking software for Mac OS X and Windows. Task Timer is an easy-to-use project management tool that allows users to track time spent on an unlimited number of projects and tasks. Users can start and stop time via a status menu that is available even when Task Timer is not the active application. Version 4.1.8 fixes minor bugs, is faster and easier to use when tracking time spent on multiple projects and tasks.
  • Mariner Software has released Contour 1.2 for Mac OS X and Contour 1.1 for Windows. Developed in tandem with Emmy Award-nominated Jeffrey Alan Schechter, Contour is a proven, fill-in-the-blanks story development system that has generated millions of dollars worth of writing assignments and script sales. The software uses the same character-based structure that most every blockbuster movies uses to create well written stories that hold together from Fade In to Fade Out. Both releases introduce major updates and fixes that will enhance the users experience while working within Contour.
  • SnowBundle has announced their new Mac Bundle of 14 great applications for Mac users, with the latest version of each application is included in the bundle. Offered at an incredible price, the Bundle represents a savings of over 85% off the list prices. Additionally, users that purchase 3 or more copies of the bundle receive a discount off of all the copies purchased.   • Following the overwhelming popularity of iBank’s summer rebate offer to Quicken users, IGG Software announces the extension of that program through October 31. “Why Wait Another Day?” offers long-suffering Intuit customers the chance to switch to a full-featured, Mac-based personal finance app - without waiting until 2010 - as well as $20 to sweeten the deal.

iPhone/iPod

  • Venikom Software has announced iSeeYou 1.0, their first iPhone app, which is now on Sale for a limited time. iSeeYou allows its users to share their location easily and quickly among their friends and family. All they need to do is share the ID number and the password which the app generates with the people they want to be observed by. Then, through Venikom’s iPhone portal they can find their current location without any registration.
  • Purple Snowcone has announced myPhotoBooth 2.0, an update to their popular photo booth application for iPhone and iPod Touch. Designed specifically to leverage the iPhone’s unique abilities and interface, myPhotoBooth lets anyone create authentic souvenir photo strips, just like from old photo booths.
  • Apple’s App Store has approved student developer Robert Hodgen’s application Swap It for release. Swap It is a clipboard sharing application for the iPhone and iPod Touch enabling users to share the contents of their clipboards over Bluetooth. Swap It lets users share text, web links (URLs) and pictures between iPhones and iPod touches. Swap It builds on the advent of “copy” and “paste” in the iPhone OS 3.0, and adds needed utility to the iPhone OS platform.
  • Very Alien Productions has introduced Trigonomics 1.0, their new trigonometric app for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed specifically to leverage the iPhone’s peerless interface, Trigonomics combines three essential tools for calculating triangles, understanding the unit circle, and graphing functions. Trigonomics calculates the area and perimeter of triangles, displays information for key angles around the unit circle, and plots up to three common trigonometric functions at the same time.
  • ShoZu Ltd, the award-winning social media hub, has announced the official launch of the ShoZu App Store, where smartphone owners can purchase the ShoZu app for most major operating systems (Oss). The direct-sales initiative complements ShoZu’s recent expansion of its sales channels, which currently include Apple’s App Store, Nokia’s OVI store and Research in Motion’s BlackBerry App World.
  • Indie developer Mini Monster Media has announced the update of its iPhone/iPod touch app, Wordweaver 1.1 and WordWeaver LITE. WordWeaver is a crossover between a classic word creation game and an arcade puzzle. It is Open Feint enabled and supports global leader boards, accelerometer action, achievements and a host of cool new features, including Sacrificial Blades and Snake Gem bonus tiles. It also offers a unique mechanic: a woven lattice board.
  • Widget Factory, LLC, the creators of the world’s thinnest iPhone and iPod touch stand, iBend, has announced its newest collection—the iBend Artist Series—featuring 12 new, out-of-the-box designs and cool looking graphics for a more personalized and colorful mobile video viewing experience.
  • The iPhone version of SmileOnMyMac’s customizable typing shortcut tool TextExpander touch, is now integrated in Tweetie 2 for the iPhone from Atebits Software. Tweetie 2 users will be able to access their TextExpander snippets while composing tweets in the app, rather than first composing their tweets in TextExpander touch. To celebrate the integration, TextExpander touch is on sale until Friday, October 16.
