Macintosh

  • TheMacBundles has announced that a new weekly special has been posted to its website. The new offer features the highly rated iPrint utility. iPrint extends the printing capabilities of OS X via a system-wide keyboard shortcut that it adds to OS X. With iPrint installed, users instantly can print or save to PDF just the text that they want in virtually any program. People who order the weekly special also can receive an immediate discount off of the already low price of the November bundle.
  • Cynical Peak Software has announced Rivet 2.3, their application for streaming video, music, and photos from Mac OS X to the Xbox 360 or PS3 over their home network, including movies, TV shows, music, photos, and podcasts. Users can now easily enjoy all of their media on their big screen TV from the comfort of their living room. Version 2.3 expands device support, enhances thumbnail support, and performance optimizations.
  • Just About Managing, Ltd, has announced SimCap 1.0, the simple iPhone Simulator screen capture utility. With a single button click, SimCap allows iPhone developers to grab screenshots for the App Store and create professional quality demonstration videos and walkthroughs with ease. Created by experienced iPhone software developers, SimCap was designed specifically to counter the shortcomings in the current crop of available tools.
  • MacFlite Software has announced Trip Plan 1.0.12, an update to their popular trip planning application for Mac OS X. Designed specifically for aviation professionals, Trip Plan is a trip planning solution for pilots. It features detailed information for airports around the world, with a database of over 24,000 landing facilities and heliports worldwide. Along side the airport and FBO information is hotel, transportation and catering info.
  • Apparent Software has announced the launch of MacGraPhoto bundle that gives Mac users 7 premium graphics applications for the price of one or even for free. Applications in MacGraPhoto bundle will satisfy most of imaging needs of any Mac user: image editing, applying effects, format conversion, batch processing, vector drawing, geo-tagging photos, framing them or even creating posters and postcards.
  • Dandy Code has released Marketplace 1.2, their popular Craigslist searcher for Mac OS X. Marketplace can search all Craigslist regions, categories, subcategories and supports all the filters the website has. Users can save their favorite entries to return to later or leave Marketplace running and it will refresh searches automatically and notify users when new results are found. Version 1.2 brings many new features and bug fixes. Users can now filter down to the sub-region level.
  • Vela Design Group has announced VelaClock Deluxe 2.2.1 and VelaClock 2.2.1, Dashboard widgets for Mac OS X. VelaClock is a world clock widget with a highly configurable user interface. Users can quickly display the time of sunrise, sunset, or twilight, duration of daylight, moonrise, moonset, phase of moon, time zone information and more. VelaClock Deluxe 2.2.1 is currently the number one widget on Apple’s Top 50 Dashboard Widgets list.
  • Reinvented Software today has announced Together 2.3 for Mac OS X. Together is an application for storing, previewing, editing and searching all kinds of files. Version 2.3 introduces many improvements to almost every part of the application and takes advantage of new technologies introduced in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Further improvements have been made to include additional information in the list of items, content searching, smart groups, tag bundles and file management.

iPhone/iPod

  • Sugarware Technologies has announced iCoin Canada 1.0, a Canadian dollar money counter for the iPhone and iPod touch. iCoin Canada counts Canadian coins and bills by letting users tap, swipe and shake their iPhones. It lets users quickly and easily sum up their Canadian pocket change, and familiarizes visitors, newcomers to Canada, and youth with their Canadian currency. iCoin Canada comes in both a full version and a free Lite version.
  • atPurpose Technologies has announced rsrc.atArchive, their new community driven article website for iPhone developers. Designed for developers, rsrc.atArchive aims to bring together existing iPhone development info into one easy and convenient-to-use online resource. Users may submit links to articles, tutorials, blogs, as well as news, projects, and utilities. Visitors to the website may search the content and categories, comment on stories and even vote on their favorites.
  • Ivan Karpan and Evgeniy Lebed have announced the Christmas sale of GlobeMaster and GlobeTipping, their applications for iPhone and iPod Touch. GlobeMaster is an offline world-wide travel guide featuring 1400+ cities in more than 260 countries, including 4100+ photos, tips calculator and advisor, units converter and much more. GlobeTipping is a tip calculator and advisor.
  • ePapyrus Inc. has announced PDF-Pro Reader 1.3.1, a significant upgrade to its popular mobile PDF reader for iPhone and iPod Touch.   • Markus Biernath has released Photo Diary 2.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The app provides all the security of a private diary, along with a lot of fun features.   • Francis Dierick has announced BibleThumper for iPhone and iPod touch. BibleThumper allows atheists to keep the most funny and irrational Bible verses right in their pocket.   • Treascovery has released Here IM v1.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Nicknamed HIM, for short, the app appeals to modern mobiles who want everything they need in one application. It offers portable GPS locating and photo emailing, which is great for general communication or for when you’re lost.

  • Warner Bros. Digital Distribution today announced the Harry Potter: Spells app is now available from the App Store. The app, based on the Harry Potter films, will transform Muggles everywhere into fledgling wizards, casting spells at their opponents to stun them with Stupefy! or disarm them with Expelliarmus! The Harry Potter: Spells app is the only official Harry Potter game available on the App Store.
  • Finally there’s a way to scientifically measure a person’s attractiveness and all it takes is a photograph and an iPhone. Fit or Fugly allows iPhone users to calculate how attractive a face is. The application uses Fibonnaci’s golden ratio, which is based on symmetries via key anchor points on a human face: eyes, ears, chin, mouth and nose. Symmetry has been accepted as the measurement to discover a human’s attractiveness.
  • Auman Software has announced zooSpelling Preschool 1.0, their latest educational application for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed to support early literacy achievement, zooSpelling is an interactive game that teaches preschool and kindergarten-aged children how to read, spell, and pronounce more than 130 high-frequency sight words. The application has 18 different zoo animals that correspond to the 18 levels of spelling difficulty.
