Macintosh

  • Synium Software has announced the availability of iFinance 3. iFinance 3 is a major leap for Synium’s personal financial management software. iFinance 3 offers vivid charts, an intuitive workflow and a brand-new customizable user interface. iFinance even tracks stock prices, displays portfolio perfomance and calculates profits and losses. iFinance 3 is free for customers of Versions 1 or 2.
  • app4mac has released the first beta version of Twin 1.1, an innovative online backup solution for Mac OS X. Twin is a true Mac product and comes with an elegant user interface and a powerful assistant. Twin is very flexible, and compatible with most Internet servers: FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, MobileMe. It even supports offline backups to external drives. The special introductory price is only available until end of June.
  • The Final Cut Pro User Group Network has announced that the agenda is now set for the 1st Annual London FCPUG SuperMeet to be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 beginning at 4:30PM at the Kensington Conference and Event Centre in London England. Oscar and BAFTA award winning film and sound editor Walter Murch will be the Keynote speaker. Mr. Murch will discuss his Final Cut Pro workflow and show clips from the just released film “Tetro,” written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola.

iPhone/iPod

  • The developers of SimpleTask, the no-frills task list for Mac and iPhone, have announced that the iPhone and feature complete Mac versions of the software will be released July 1st. SimpleTask, created with the goal of eliminating time wasted organizing task lists, is the simplest task list to sync between Mac and iPhone. The iPhone version will be available for $1.99 on the iPhone app store, with all the features of the desktop version. SimpleTask for Mac, in public beta for over a month, adds many requested features such as menubar only support and of course, syncing with the iPhone. It will continue to be available for free, donations optional, as a direct download.
  • Agile Web Solutions has released 1Password touch Pro 2.1, a new, more powerful version of their award-winning 1Password touch for iPhone and iPod touch. With new capabilities like Quick Copy and Paste, a Safari bookmarklet for logging into websites, and compatibility with iPhone OS 3.0, 1Password touch Pro is the best mobile password and identity manager yet. To celebrate, 1Password touch Pro is on sale for a limited time at 60% off in the App Store.

  • Point Don’t Shout is a new picture dictionary travel application for the iPhone and iPod Touch.   • Bolt Creative has announced that in the next update to their popular iPhone game Pocket God, the island inhabitants will be granted the greatest invention in human history: fire!   • 6ixset Studios has announced Touch KO, a Fight Night inspired game for the iPhone and iPod touch. Touch KO gives the gamer a chance to advance through a boxing career, starting from humble beginnings in a run-down gym, all the way to the glamorous grand arena for the title fight. The game allows for full 3D customization of the virtual fighter including facial and body, clothing and even tattoos.
