Macintosh

  • Noise Industries has announced the release of the ParticleMetrix plug-in from development partner Idustrial Revolution. The ParticleMetrix plug-in delivers outstanding image processing technology for producing high quality organic and supernatural particles. FxFactory powered plug-ins are designed by Noise Industries and their development partners to extend the visual effects capabilities of Adobe After Effects CS3/CS4, Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion and Apple Final Cut Express applications.
  • Arten Science has announced R10Cipher 2.3, a simple but powerful, true cross platform encryption and decryption tool. R10Cipher takes text or files and encrypts them using up to 384 bit Blowfish encryption. It supports drag and drop multiple file encryption, and decryption by double clicking a file to recreate it with its original filename. This version includes up to 384 Bit Encryption as well as sporting an updated interface and an revised manual.
  • SkypeCap today announced SkypeCap for Mac 2.0, their Skype video and audio session recorder for Mac OS X. With a focus on ease-of-use, SkypeCap for Mac allows recording of audio and video conversation from Skype to most popular video and audio files. SkypeCap for Mac saves your Skype sessions so that you could hear and watch them again later or share them with someone else. It fully integrates the process into the Mac experience by allowing human interaction during recording and conversion.

iPhone/iPod

  • 42 Restaurants is now available from the iTunes App Store. 42 Restaurants is a unique cookbook and a unique iPhone application. Top of the range restaurants contributed to this iPhone restaurant-guide-meets-gourmet-cookbook. It showcases a collection of recipes and images chosen from some of the very best restaurants in the world. The application is for food lovers or anyone who is inspired by the finer things in life, and the design complements the beauty of the iPhone.
  • The Art Department at Catholic Memorial High School has announced the launch of the CMHS Art Department Wallpaper Gallery application for the iPhone. The CMHS iPhone application was created by START MOBILE, which is donating 100% of revenues from the sale of the mobile art gallery to the Catholic Memorial High School Art Department.
  • The Pragmatic Programmers have released iPhone SDK Development, a beta of their book for developers interested in targeting the iPhone 3.0 SDK. The “iPhone SDK Development” book contains more than 50 sample programs for iPhone SDK 3.0, along with explorations of the big picture, and an eye to the little details that programmers need. “iPhone SDK Development” goes beyond basic developer docs to help developers succeed on today’s most popular mobile application platform.
  • SplashData has brought its popular SplashTravel suite to the App Store, but with all of the travel utilities combined under one icon. Until now, the suite has been available for Treo devices only. Beyond the existing travel applications included in the suite, SplashData also added the powerful Trip Organizer and Home screen features to bring it all together in a cohesive user interface.
  • The brand-new Jewel Quest Deluxe for iPhone, iPod touch and mobile is now available for download.   • Freeverse, Inc., has announced a significant update to its extremely popular Flick Sports title, Flick Fishing.
