Macintosh

- publicspace.net has announced A Better Finder Rename 8.44, an update to their popular file, music and photo renaming utility. A Better Finder Rename is a sophisticated tool that caters for the full range of file renaming tasks encountered by the modern creative professional. Its streamlined interface includes a instant preview feature that eliminates guess work and reduces error. The new release adds support for using roman numerals in file names.
- Amuse, Inc., has announced My Living Desktop 4.5, an innovative Macintosh application that replaces the standard desktop with a video desktop that plays high-definition movies of the user’s choice. My Living Desktop 4.5 provides Mac users around the world with an engaging and innovative way to enhance their Mac experience. - Samson Technologies has announced the availability of the new Q2U Recording Pack with HP20 headphones. Samson designed the Q2U as a high-quality microphone to meet all live sound and digital audio recording needs. A dynamic handheld microphone, the Q2U features both an XLR output and a USB I/O allowing it to be plugged directly into a live sound console or any computer with a USB input.
iPhone/iPod
- Juicy Bits has introduced Spy Pix 1.0 for iPhone, a new app that makes it easy to hide and send secret messages in plain view. Spy Pix uses steganography to hide one image inside of another decoy image. To casual viewers, only the decoy image is seen. However for seasoned spies, the image can be decoded with Spy Pix to reveal a hidden message. On receipt of an encoded image, an on-screen slider is used to decode the image and reveal a secret message.
- Unicorn Multimedia has released Joovia Extreme Sports 1.0, a great new game for iPhone and iPod touch. Joovia Extreme Sports Episode One is a fast paced action-sports game that involves a cute redhead that you need to protect from a variety of flying objects. Apparently she thinks tennis is only fun if it’s dangerous. This tennis game has 30 different levels in which the player must protect Joovia. This game is unpredictable fun and will instantly become a favorite of many iPhone gamers.
- CVZ Productions has released Daily Tracker 4.0, a major update to their popular personal organizer for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Designed specifically to take advantage of the iPhone’s unique capabilities and interface, Daily Tracker allows users to track virtually anything. Version 4.0 features voice notes, GPS map locations and numerous usability improvements.
- With the free dailyplaces iPhone App you can memorize nice places or settings, share them with friends and other mobile or internet users, and search for interesting places nearby. Every place can be also published at the individual dailyplaces website, as well as sent to the Twitter network.
- Kabuki Vision has released NoteMaster 2.3, an update to their popular note-taking app for iPhone and iPod Touch. NoteMaster makes it easy to create great-looking notes by inserting images, photos, and headers right inside the text. Fonts can be selected for each note for a customized look. Other features include categories, password-protection, hyperlink detection, full-text search, e-mail, and syncing with Google Docs. Version 2.3 allows font selection and supports hyperlinks.
- Daze End Software has released Action Lists 2.2, a new version of their task manager for the iPhone and iPod touch. Action Lists is designed specifically for the popular Getting Things Done methodology. Action Lists has many GTD-specific features, and this new version adds user requested features like searching and the ability to create tasks from the contents of the iPhone’s clipboard. Data in Action Lists can be syncrhonized with the popular, and free, Toodledo web service.

One of the most anticipated features in this upgrade is image syncing from the desktop to the device.
- AdrenalineApps has announced Where R U? 1.0 for iPhone devices. Where R U? leverages the new push notification of the 3.0 OS. It enables iPhone users to find other iPhone users or let them know where they are with a touch of a button. Where R U? is a bi-directional location application where iPhone users don’t have to call, text or email their location. The recipient can either press “Here I Am!” or “Not Telling You!”
