Macintosh

  • MacEase Software has announced that TheMacBundles’ weekly specials for the week of August 17th are Iris and DoubleTake. Iris lets users use iSight and other cameras to take snapshots, record time-lapse movies, detect motion, and more. DoubleTake enables users to stitch multiple images together to create panoramic pictures.  Additionally, people who order one of the weekly specials will receive an immediate discount off of the already low price of the August bundle.
  • St. Clair Software has announced the release of Default Folder X 4.3. Default Folder X enhances the file dialogs in all Mac OS X applications. It provides fast navigation to your files, convenient previews, integrated Spotlight tagging, and more. Version 4.3 delivers support for Apple’s new Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, as well as continued compatibility with Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5. It also provides improvements in Default Folder X’s feature set and reliability.

iPhone/iPod

  • i.TV has announced the i.TV Remote Control Framework that makes it possible for users to turn their iPhone or iPod touch into a universal remote control for televisions, DVRs, AV receivers and other home entertainment devices. TiVo is the first to introduce an integrated remote control for their subscribers who use i.TV.
  • Tired of all the puzzle classics and want to try something new? T-KARA for iPhone and iPod touch will take you far out in space to a somewhat deserted planet of the same name. On T-KARA you’ll find an ancient stone grid where two different games can be played. Which one will be your favorite?!
  • GPush, the GMail push application for the iPhone, is available today through the Apple App Store. Instant (or “push”) GMail has been accessible on most smartphones for years, but surprisingly has not been available on iPhone, until now. GPush, which is now available in the App Store, enables iPhone users to instantly receive GMail notifications on their iPhone. Without GPush, iPhone users can sometimes wait up to an hour to be notified of a new email received in their Gmail inbox.
  • iSkin has posted their Ultimate Back-to-School contest on their website, where one reade\ could win a prize package worth $2,500. Entries will be accepted till 11:59 PM EST on September 15, 2009.
