Macintosh

  • Hyperbolic Software has announced the release of Tidy Up! 2, the latest version of the award-winning duplicate finder and disk tidying utility. Tidy Up! has become a must-have utility to reclaim disk space being taken up by duplicate files and packages. Tidy Up! locates duplicate items using a wide range of criteria including owner application, time created or modified, name, label, extension and content. Version 2 introduces nearly 50 new features to this already comprehensive tool.
  • Having to explain gesticulate to your precocious child? Easy. Having to explain the other adult-themed sonic cousin of that word? Not so easy. Avoiding such unfortunate occurrences is one of the many reasons Freeverse is proud to announce the release of the acclaimed BumperCar 2.2! The newest release of the kid-centric Mac OS X web browser introduces the latest version of WebKit, the same engine that powers Apple’s Safari, for enhanced performance and increased security. And what about the stuff you do want your kids to explore? Have them experience it in a now larger viewing window.   • Ambrosia Software, Inc. has announced the simultaneous release of WireTap Studio 1.0.10, WireTap Anywhere 1.0.3, and Snapz Pro X 2.1.4. These updates prepare their core Ambrosia productivity tools for the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5.7, as well as improve compatibility with Apple’s latest hardware.
  • Spiderweb Software, Inc. has announced the release of a new version of Geneforge 2 for the Macintosh. The v1.1 update is now Universal and should run properly on all recently purchased Macintoshes.

iPhone/iPod

  • It is now possible to send a personalized Easter greeting card with the iPhone via e-mail. equinux has introduced a new iPhone App which enables users to send an Easter greeting with your own pictures via e-mail on an iPhone. Users can employ the iPhone camera to take a picture or choose one from their photo archive and apply the photo to an Easter Card.
  • 7sql has released iBrowseTwo 1.0 for iPhone. iBrowseTwo enables users to have two websites displayed simultaneously on the screen. Never before has this feature been offered in the iPhone application. Compact navigation bar delivers nearly full-screen experience without sacrificing the user comfort. Website pages are displayed together with the innovative navigation bar which packs all the basic functionality into a small screen space.
  • Clever Coding has announced iColor Easter Eggs 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. Just in time for Easter, iColor Easter Eggs is an innovative application that allows users to color Easter Eggs, choose a greeting and background, and email the e-card to their friends and family. Users can choose from one of six custom egg designs and color eggs in any way they wish. Building on the success of previous interactive games, Clever Coding wanted to build a game that fun and simple for all age groups.
  • Two years after launching its video show, MacMost has added a second major podcast to its network. MacAnswers is a short daily audio podcast where Mac expert Gary Rosenzweig answers a Mac, iPod or iPhone question each day. The questions come from listeners of the new podcast, or from viewers of MacMost’s videos or readers of MacMost’s Web site content. Topics range from the Mac OS, to applications like iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and third-party utilities for the Mac. The podcast will also cover topics related to the iPhone and iPod.
