Macintosh

  • Spiderweb Software, Inc. announced today the release of a new version of Geneforge 5: Overthrow for the Macintosh. The v1.0.3 update fixes a handful of bugs and should smooth out occasional glitches in the sound. Geneforge 5: Overthrow is a fantasy role-playing game, the final chapter in the epic Geneforge saga. Return to the world of the Shapers, where a sect of powerful wizards fights a devastating war against their rebellious creations. Explore a vast, war-torn world, create and mold your own army of strange, powerful monsters, and choose a side to lead to final victory.
  • SintraWorks has announced PDFClerk Pro 3.7, an update to their very popular PDF Document Editor for Mac OS X. PDFClerk Pro is a multi-faceted PDF editor with powerful and unique capabilities. It is designed to make standard operations easy and accessible, while allowing ample flexibility and adjustment to more complicated workflows for those with more advanced needs. Version 3.7 sports annotation sequence inversion, form field tab ordering and support for mixed mode editing.
  • Chronic Logic has announced that Zatikon 1.0 is now a free game for OSX, Windows and Linux. Zatikon is an online, turn based, multiplayer tactics game featuring over 30 unique units, each with their own set of spells and abilities. Construct your own distinct army. Create your own strategies. Defeat your opponents in competitive, multiplayer modes or play the computer is single player mode.
  • Mach Software Design has announced a new version of its flagship product, Clipboard Evolved. Clipboard Evolved 2.25 makes it fun and easy to manage all your important data, and is one of the most customizable, fully featured and mature clipboard managers available. There are many ways to get data into and out of Clipboard Evolved: drag and drop, keyboard combinations, contextual menus, menu bar access, clipboard history and more.

  • iPresentee has released Keynote Themes 4.0 and free Keynote themes to be used with Apple’s Keynote presentation software. Keynote Themes 4.0 includes ten new awesome themes: Movie, Metallic, Plasma, Chinese Symbols, Paper Flower, Paint Drops, Bamboo, Golden Ornament, Reflection and Black in Red. Furthermore iPresentee offers to try free Keynote themes: Chocolate, Autumn Colors, Red Cloud and Movie.
  • AssistiveWare has announced the release of GhostReader 1.6, which delivers new voices for Arabic, Greek, Russian, Italian, Turkish, British, and Norwegian. It also offers Safari 4 compatibility and adds new large educational discounts. GhostReader is a powerful, yet easy to use multilingual text-to-speech solution for Mac OS X that reads aloud PDF, Word and other documents as well as selected text in any application. It can also convert any text to audio files for playback on iPhone and iPod.
  • Tellini has announced the release of Tablatures 1.13. Tablatures is the first and only Mac OS X editor for PowerTab tablatures. PowerTab is a well-known and widely adopted tablature editor for Windows systems and thousands of transcriptions in this format are available on the net. Tablatures is thus an essential tool for guitar players wishing to learn new songs as well for trainers. Version 1.13 implements a frequently requested feature: the option to change the tablature font size.
  • XChange UK are pleased to announce they have now assumed the operation of ThePowerXChange website. ThePowerXChange has been based near Denver, Colorado, since 1995 and distributes thousands of extensions-based products used with applications such as QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, After Effects, Premiere, and QuarkXPress Server, as well as many stand-alone applications for the designer, publisher, printer, and web-content creator.
  • Mariner Software, developers and publishers of professional and personal software, announced today the pending release of Mariner Paperless 1.0, the rebranded popular Mac OS X software, ReceiptWallet, acquired by Mariner earlier this year. Along with this rebranding, all sales, support, customer service and development is now under the Mariner umbrella.
  • IGG Software has announced the public beta of iBiz 4, a full-version upgrade to its market-leading application for time-tracking, billing and project management. iBiz 4 delivers a more intuitive, attractive and efficient application that quickly pays for itself. This free trial release, which adds Statements, iCal Sync Engine and a new user interface and is available for immediate download.

iPhone/iPod

  • Hendrik Kueck has announced the release of ColorSplash 1.2, an update to his highly popular image editing app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Now users can easily upload and share their edited images on social networking sites Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. ColorSplash lets users give photos a dramatic look by converting them to black and white, while keeping chosen details in color. ColorSplash’s intuitive and responsive user interface makes photo editing and sharing easy and fun.
  • DigiDock.Corporation (Tokyo) has released Reversi Sister for all the anime fans around the world. The Reversi-style game features a cute and high quality Japanese anime girl who talks, dances, and cheers for the player, according to your moves and actions.
  • The Dream Apps has released Currencee 1.0; a sleek, stylish, affordable and easy to use currency converter for the iPhone and iPod touch. Currencee makes currency converting a breeze. On launch it automatically downloads the latest set of exchange rates in seconds and then allows you to use them. Select the currency you want to convert from, and the one you want to convert to at the bottom the app, and then type in the amount, and Currencee calculates it automatically.
  • iPhone development firm AFK Studio has announced the release of DialX 1.0, the first sight-free dialing application for iPhone OS. Through a combination of gestures and auditory feedback cues, DialX makes it possible to dial phone numbers without looking directly at the screen.
  • Premier provider of mobile “lifestyle” solutions, Drync, LLC has announced the release of a free version of Drync-Wine, simplifying the way people research, remember, share, and purchase wine using their mobile device. Built initially for the iPhone, Drync-Wine is the only mobile wine application that scours multiple databases of nearly a million wine listings in real time to identify the exact wine you are drinking.
  • Griffin Technology has announced the availability of the Navigate Inline Controller. The Navigate delivers FM stereo radio and offers a line remote control for any recent-generation iPod or iPhone model. The Navigate works with both iPod and iPhone to deliver Play, Stop, Pause, Forward, Backward and Scan controls, as well as access to album and artist listings, playlists, shuffle modes and EQ settings. It allows users to tuck their music devices out of sight while still retaining access to its controls. The integrated OLED display mirrors info from the iPhone and iPod, so viewing content such as track time and song titles is easy, even with the device placed in a pocket or backpack.
  • In the tradition of retro arcade games from the 80s, Sticky Licky’s purpose is simple: get the highest score possible, have tons of fun, and keep playing it over and over to get better and better. Tilt the iPhone or iPod Touch to the left or right, aim and tap Sticky Licky to eat as many bugs as possible to feed his hunger without getting stung by bees. Besides the bees and potential starvation, Sticky Licky also needs to avoid those pesky mosquitoes from taking away too much energy. Along the way there are also some special bugs to help you fight these enemies and gain mega points.
