Macintosh/iPhone software update round-up - September 25, 2008
Macintosh and iPhone software updates and announcements for September 23, 2008:
- Midnight Mansion 1.1.5, a free update to ActionSoft’s popular action/exploration game, has been released. v1.1.5 adds the ability for custom mansions to be stored in subfolders within the Custom Mansions folder (one level deep).
- Cynical Peak Software has announced the release of Rivet 1.3, their application for streaming video, music, and photos from Mac OS X to an Xbox 360. Rivet is an easy to use and fun way to play all of your favorite media content from your Mac on your TV using your Xbox 360, including movies, TV shows, music, photos, and podcasts. You can now easily enjoy all of your media on your big screen TV from the comfort of your living room. Rivet 1.3 adds the ability to only display podcasts that you have not listened to and fixes connectivity and display issues.
- Mudbug Software has introduced Webify 1.0, their new image editing utility for Mac OS X Leopard. Serving as an easy-to-use image browser, Webify was specifically developed as a productivity tool to help prepare images for the web. Quickly and easily resize, scale, rotate and flip many images at once and save them in one of several web-friendly formats. Alter the Exposure, Gamma, Saturation, Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, and Sepia of images in batch, or one at a time.
- MrJoy and Freeverse today announced the release of a major update for their tower defense game, Hordes of Orcs. Featuring smooth 3D graphics and engrossing strategic gameplay, Hordes of Orcs offers an exciting and original experience for the Mac and Windows platform. A free demo of the game is available for download from the Freeverse website.
- MacVide has announced MacVide Flash Player 1.7, their standalone Flash player utility for Mac OS X. With a focus on ease-of-use, Flash Player allows play Adobe Flash files, flash video and games. It also allows you to watch downloaded flash files from YouTube and other video websites. All of the flash formats are supported.
- iWebTemplate has announced the addition of 30 Rapidweaver themes to its collection courtesy of Rapidweaverthemes. RapidWeaverThemes offers you some of the best, and most versatile themes for RapidWeaver that you can find. Rapidweaverthemes strive to provide themes for every area life whether you are needing a theme for a personal site, a business site, a church site, or a non-profit site one of our many themes will surely fit the bill.
- Houdah Software has announced the immediate availability of ACTSudoku 1.5. ACTSudoku 1.5 is a major, yet free, update to Houdah Software’s Sudoku game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The many new features include an intelligent and educational hint option: ACTSudoku may help you take the next step and explain the reasoning behind it. Moreover, it is now possible to switch automatic markers on or off during game play.
- Griffin Technology Inc., has announced availability of Simplifi, a desktop solution that allows users to reclaim their desktops by consolidating an iPod and iPhone dock, media card reader and USB hub into a single, attractive device.
