Macintosh and iPhone software updatesMacintosh and iPhone software updates and announcements for October 10, 2008:

  • Elgato has updated its EyeTV software to version 3.0.4. It includes some improvemnts to the editor, some additional hardware support, and a few bug fixes that are country specific. Users of EyeTV 3.x will see the auto-update when they next launch the software.
  • Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH has announced the latest update to its Cubase Essential 4 Personal Music Production System. Adding new features including support for Steinberg’s new MR816 CSX/X and CC121 Advanced Integration hardware products, support for the new VST Sound format and full compatibility with the new Sequel Content Sets, the 4.5 update for Cubase Essential 4 owners is now available on Steinberg’s website.
  • Aquafadas has announced the immediate availability of VideoPier and VideoPier HD v1.0. The VideoPier family of products is aimed at videographers who own MPEG-2 or AVCHD camcorders and who struggle with these video formats on their Mac.
  • .com Solutions, Inc. has introduced SQLite Diff 1.18, a new product to compare SQLite Database Schema and Data displaying colorized SQL and Data Highlighting. SQLite Diff is implemented as a graphical application enabling developers to easily drag and drop two SQLite databases onto the application to start the comparison process.
  • Indie-focused online music radio broadcaster, BreakThru Radio, is using technology from TVersity to offer on-demand radio shows to iPhone and iTouch users. The news means the broadcaster’s diverse range of channels covering the gamut, from reggae to rock. iPhone and iTouch users simply need to navigate to BreakThru Radio in Safari on their device. Once there they will be presented with a series of drop-down menus which allow them to choose the on-demand show they want to hear.
  • iWebTemplate has announced the addition of the new RapidWeaver theme Simplistic Pro to its collection. The new design is courtesy of seyDesign. As a leading supplier of iWeb and Rapidweaver templates and themes, iWebTemplate has collaborated with various providers to bring you 50+ unique iWeb and Rapidweaver templates and themes.
  • infiniteNIL has released Numerology, its first application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Numerology is an application that helps you gain insight into yourself and other people. By studying the numbers represented by a person’s name and birth date it is possible to determine their inner personality, talents, hidden tendencies, turning points, and probable challenges in life, among other characteristics. Its a good way to entertain at a party as well.
  • Arten Science has announced macVCR Version 2. Following on from the success of Version 1, Arten Science has worked hard to produce a significant upgrade in Version 2 with many advanced features including Magnify at the Cursor, Simultaneous Video Camera Recording, Unlimited User Presets and a Date and Time Overlay Option. Existing customers can upgrade free of charge. As with all our products macVCR remains free of charge to educational and charity organisations.
