Macintosh and iPhone software updates and announcements for July 16, 2008:

• Andrei Doubrovski, a professional photo restoration artist and technician, has released version 1.8 of video-book As Simple as Photoshop. The book is devoted to an original method of a quick but total immersion into the environment of Photoshop. Every tutorial here is packed with a short movie showing some practical usage of the wordy lesson. You may play those either one by one, or as a full-size and full-length video. The elaborated controls instantly guide you to required page or episode.
• iWebTemplate has collaborated with Jumsoft, iPresentee and 11Mystics to bring you a growing collection of 38 Apple iWeb templates and RapidWeaver themes. These templates are available to use in creating websites, blogs, and podcasts complete with photos, movies, and music.
• Mobile PDA and Smartphone market leader, WebIS Inc., has announced that it will be releasing its incredibly popular PIM, Pocket Informant, for the iPhone and iPod Touch in Fall 2008. Pocket Informant is the next generation in Personal Daily Management for the iPhone, and Windows Mobile. Listed at number 6 of all sales for WinMobile apps, this new release will leverage eight years of mobile experience and will bring a fresh perspective to the iPhone user.
• ArtWizz has announced four new cases for the iPhone 3G: SeeJacket Silicone and SeeJacket Silicone 2C, SeeJacket Crystal, MirrorFilm and ScratchStopper, and a new trio of Leather Pouches.
• Well known theme developer, seyDoggy, has recently released a new theme, Tagg, for RapidWeaver 4.0. Tagg is the first in the new Designer theme series that is aimed those who want simple, high style themes without a lot fuss over features. Tagg is a fun and informal web template that would be perfectly suited to a photography site, music site or technology blog. With modern styling, tag will certainly stand out in a crowd.
• iSkin’s new ProTouch and ProTouch FX keyboard protectors guard your MacBook Air, Macbook Pro, and Aluminum Wireless and Wired keyboards against spills, food, and other objects that may damage the computer. The Microban antimicrobial shield protects from odor and stain causing bacteria. The product line also features a printed keyboard skin - the FX model.
