HardMac, the English translation of MacBidouille believes that Apple will be announcing new products on February 12th. HardMac says the delay (approximately 2 weeks after MacWorld 2008) was to maintain the buzz surrounding products like MacBook Air and Apple TV. Their sources also claim that the new product will be a revised MacBook Pro. This could be similar to the Mac Pro’s announcement, which was announced days before MacWorld 2008, possibly to maintain the buzz as well.
However, it must be said that HardMac’s sources of information are sometimes unreliable; for example, the news site predicted that Mac OS X 10.5.2 would arrive at MacWorld 2008, but no such update was ever announced during the conference. That being said, previous rumors have pointed to a major announcement in the next few weeks or so, and 12th February is also a Tuesday (in keeping with Apple’s tradition, the day that major product announcements are made). We’ll keep tabs on this.
