As we near the release of Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), the final updates for the current version of OS X will slowly start to trickle in. Today, Apple has made available Mac OS X 10.5.8, the 8th revision of the Leopard operating system. It is available through Apple’s website, as well as OS X’s Software Update.

The update entails the following fixes:

  • Compatibility and reliability issues when joining AirPort networks.
  • An issue that could cause some monitor resolutions to no longer appear in Displays System Preferences.
  • Issues that may affect Bluetooth reliability.

All of this is in addition to the general increase of security, stability, and compatibility of the operating system.

I’d be on my way to update, but I figure that Apple’s servers are being eaten alive by OS X users.
