Macintosh

  • Veenix Technologies has announced TypeBook Creator 2.4, the latest release of its highly acclaimed Macintosh font viewing and cataloging software. The new version features an innovative and colorful new approach to font organization which sorts fonts by energy and ranks them using an associative color. The new version also features “Quick Mix Suggestions” which allows the user to select a font and quickly see and print a list of fonts with similar characteristics.
  • InfoWallet offers a free upgrade to version 1.1.05 with significant new features. InfoWallet is an inexpensive, compact, and secure software program that keeps a person’s information private, yet available and conveniently works on any USB flash drive or computer. The data isn’t vulnerable to Internet hacking. The Login Assistant extends the use of passwords to automate logging in to websites and other programs with as little as 2 or 3 clicks.
  • Postbox, Inc. has announced Postbox 1.1.1, an update to its flagship email product. Postbox gives users powerful new ways to find, use, and view email messages and content, organize work life, and simply get stuff done. Providing enhanced support for Mac OS X applications and technologies, Postbox now integrates with Address Book, iCal and extends search to work with Spotlight, making the entire workflow more efficient and intuitive.
  • Malkinware has announced Reference Tracker 1.6, an update to their academic reference manager and research tool for Mac OS X. Reference Tracker creates documents that store all the user’s citations and references from their essays, research projects or books and automatically creates formatted reference lists in a variety of styles when needed. Version 1.6 adds support for the Australian Government Publication Service Harvard referencing style.
  • SMART Technologies has announced the SMART Slate WS200 wireless slate is now available for use on the Mac platform. SMART Slate enables teachers and students to interact with digital lessons projected on a screen, interactive whiteboard, interactive display or interactive pen display from anywhere in the classroom. SMART Slate was developed with extensive user feedback, resulting in the addition of several features, such as improved ergonomics, convenient charging via the USB cable and support for 10 languages, including Simplified Chinese, Castilian Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. The WS200 replaces the WS100 (formerly AirLiner™ WS100 wireless slate).

iPhone/iPod/iPad

  • iKit has launched another installment to their eagerly anticipated 2010 product range. The new iPad leather sleeve is a continuation of their series for iPhone 3GS and is made of genuine cow leather. It features an interior and exterior embossed design with secure sleeve access,  giving your iPad a safe and stylish look.
  • Independent software developer Steve Glinberg has announced KidCalc Valentines Math Fun 1.11, a Valentines Day themed version of his popular math app for iPhone and iPod touch. This new version of KidCalc includes a new learning activity, Math Flash Cards Champion, which challenges users to solve 10, 25, 50 or even 100 math problems. KidCalc teaches math to children ages 3-8 years using holiday themed graphics, engaging animations and voice-overs.
  • Takion Group SPRL has released Tower Defense EVO 1.3 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The app has been the number two best seller in the Microsoft Marketplace for more than six months but this is a new launch in the Apple line up. An addictive strategy action game, Tower Defense EVO offers a variety of weapons, locations and playing levels to keep things fresh and exciting, in real time.
  • ditter.projektagentur GmbH has released Food Guide 1.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch users who are interested in European foods. The application is a unique blend of European food product information, consumer report and translation assistance. Food Guide, designed by a publisher and food journalist, contains approximately 1,500 different foods in eighteen categories and three languages, making it a handy reference for use in any country.
  • Visitors to Vancouver will now be able to download a free application for their smart phones that puts a complete guide to the city in the palm of their hand. The application, named CitySmart, inspired by Tourism Vancouver and developed in partnership with mobile GPS navigation developer SatSports Ltd and Smartphone manufacturer HTC. It’s the world’s first completely interactive tourist and sporting event mobile application, providing live updated tourist and event information, (Vancouver are currently using this feature for the Winter Olympics) plus an advanced GPS system that provides detailed street navigation and breaking news on traffic situations.
  • Izatt International has announced that the popular iPhone mileage log application, MileBug, is now 50% off as a Valentine’s Day Sale. For all those who love a bigger tax deduction, Izatt is offering MileBug at a substantial discount through February 15th. Version 1.5 has arrived with great new features such as Frequent Trips and Expense Tracking. MileBug helps those driving their own vehicles for business, charity, medical, or other reasons receive their reimbursement and/or tax deduction.
  • AppsPerfect today released MobiMind 1.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch users who enjoy gameplay. The App is an amped up version of the classic Mastermind game, offering custom themes, levels of difficulty for kids and adults and a chance for players to get into the MobiMind Worldwide Hall of Fame. MobiMind stays true to the classic Mastermind game, using the same rules and regulations, however developers have added some interesting and exciting perks to add to the original concept.
  • EverdreamSoft has released Moonga 1.0.4 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Moonga is an exciting new trading card game that pits players against others online. The online multi-player Moonga app is the only one of its kind, offering users a unique trading card game which is easy to learn and based on strategized plays to win. Winners are displayed on the community’s global or monthly leaderboards for players to view worldwide.
  • GO2STAT LLC has released Learn Statistics 1.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch users. LearnStat, as the app is nicknamed, covers complete statistical calculations for undergraduate study. The application helps students to understand how to perform statistical data analysis through the use of dynamic graphs, examples and detailed notes of explanation. LearnStat is the perfect, fully rounded program to assist stat students to succeed in their undergraduate studies.
  • Running Method today announces Run Coach 1.0, a new iPhone app that offers personalized running training plans for getting fit and race preparation. Run Coach showcases some of the iPhone’s best functionality, including run recording, GPS map tracking, music playlist selection and more unique features. It provides each user with a personalized training plan that is goal-oriented, offers flexible scheduling, tracks runs and progress, shows detailed reports, feedback, and more.
  • Independent software developer Noel Churchill has introduced Rapid Missed Connections 1.0, his new Craigslist submission tool for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Rapid Missed Connections allows users to post a message and a photo to the missed connections area on Craigslist. The Missed Connections area of Craigslist is a bulletin board for people wishing they had made a connection with someone and have no other way to reach out to that person.
  • Tales2Go LLC has launched Tales2Go 1.0, a kids’ audio story subscription service for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Tales2Go utilizes streaming technology to deliver a subscription kids’ audio story service giving moms and dads instant, on-demand access to more than 700 titles from leading audio publishers and award-winning storytellers. The new service offers anywhere, anytime access for on-the-go families.
  • Toughturtle LLC has released Winter 2010 for iPhone and iPod Touch App. Winter 2010 has up-to-the-minute news and information from an extensive list of providers, so you know that you have everything you need to stay on top of the Vancouver Games. Already touted as the go-to App for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Winter 2010 has all the features that an Olympic App should have, and so much more.
  • Bowers Technologies, Inc. has announced iPastor 1.0, their latest iPhone app for the Christian marketplace. iPastor is a valuable tool for pastors, ministers, missionaries, church staff, and even volunteers to effectively and efficiently serve the church members. iPastor allows people to record an unlimited number of ministry needs, including the ability to assign multiple categories to a particular person’s needs, assign multiple care strategies, and much much more.
  • The newest app from EYEDIP is Pocket Valentine. These days, we’ve all gone digital, so why not send a Valentine’s Day card from anywhere on your iphone? You can be technologically cool and electronically savvy at the same time. Email them, post them to your honey, tweet them directly to his/her twitter account, or post a card onto their Facebook wall.
