Livestation aims to bring live TV to your iPhone

by Josh Holat on Dec 3, 2008 at 10:37 PM

Livestation brings live TV to the iPhoneSkinkers, a communication company that has Matteo Berlucchi at its head as CEO, wants to bring live TV to your iPhone via their Livestation broadcasting platform. Livestation, which has been around for a few years now, currently offers live streaming to desktops, but is unfortunately mostly for corporate customers such as CNN at the moment. However, a while back they received a total of $19.5 million dollars from venture capitalists, and it is now clear what they have spent some of that on.

Although this isn’t a finished product yet, it sure does look promising. Even though it will only work on Wifi (which can only be expected with live TV, as the bandwidth over EDGE would be much too large), it is going to be pretty awesome. As Matteo puts it, this is very “sexy,” and I think it’s only going to get better. This video is a nice little preview, but be sure to tune into Livestation at 5PM GMT tomorrow in order to get a live demonstration of the application as it is now. That’s something I wouldn’t want to miss.
