Lines form for the Sydney Apple Store

by Josh Holat on Jun 18, 2008 at 11:43 AM

Apple Store Sydney
Is it the 3G iPhone? A new Apple product? Steve Jobs coming to visit? Nope. The line is simply for the opening of the Sydney Apple Store at 5 P.M. on June 19th. This new store, which will be handing out 2,500 limited edition T-shirts upon opening, was first spotted back in May. The store will have three levels and will be located on 77 King street. The people already in line must be extremely devoted Apple fans, as the temperature at night can drop to 13 degrees, and some people have even flown in from other areas of Australia simply to get a spot in line.

Something very interesting about these Apple fans is that some even have iPhones that were imported from the USA and sold on the grey-market there. If they will go through that much to get an iPhone and will stand in line for a store opening, imagine what the Sydney Store is going to be like when the iPhone 3G arrives. I hope the Australians enjoy their new store and survive the rough night before opening.
