What is it?
Kooaba is an app that works with the iPhone, any Android phone, or even plain old phones that support MMS. You can also use it on the web. You take a photo of a particular product, and it gives you all kinds of information and links about the item.

How does it work?
You snap a shot of different things in the entertainment field: CDs, DVDs, Games, or even a movie poster. You send it to kooaba, either through the app or through text. It will then send you back a link with more information about that item; where you can buy it, and so on.
You can also use it to keep a handy-dandy little library of your stuff in your phone. You can create a library of what you already own, or a wishlist library. This can be helpful if you don’t remember if you own a certain CD or movie…just search your library by title or artist, and it will show you if you already have it. Perfect for those with the memory of a fruit-fly.

You can even share bragging rights about all the goodies you own, since Kooaba is hooked up with several of the big social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Woo hoo! “My library is bigger than yours is.” for the red car drivers among us.
What else? Would you like to read some reviews about the item in question? Kooaba has you covered. You can find out what sites like last.fm, Amazon and netflix have to say about that CD, DVD, or game. You can click right on the links it returns to you to go to the different sites to either read about it or even purchase it right from your phone.

Wow, I just downloaded the app and LOVE it! And the connected library is really handy when it comes to remember things you see like a great DVD at a friend’s house or in a shop and get relevant information about them…
