Kindle or iPhone: what do you use to access your favorite content?

Amazon’s announcement of their new Kindle 2 offered some interesting concepts in the publishing market, and is starting to reinvent the way we consume our books, newspapers, and magazines. By the same token, the iPhone has reinvented the way we listen to our music, connect with others, and use our mobile devices. However, the iPhone also does, to some extent, what the Kindle was built around, and that is reading books. But the iPhone also lets users listen to music, podcasts, and more finely recorded audiobooks. Now, I’m aware that the Kindle has a headphone jack and 2GB of storage, but that isn’t nearly enough for books and audio content. The question is, which do you prefer for accessing your content?
I guess it sort of boils down to whether you prefer books over audio or vice versa. Many people will make the argument that the Kindle is easier on the eyes when it comes to reading due to the larger screen and e-ink technology. However, others say the iPhone is fine for the reading that they do. On the other hand, the iPhone can play high quality audiobooks from Audible and other sources, while the Kindle’s text to speech technology is somewhat lacking in comparison. As you can see, they both have their ups and downs, but the type of content you consume is very important.
On top of that idea is price. The Kindle is a one time fee of $359.99, and then the cost of each book you purchase. On the other hand, the iPhone 3G at around $199.99 initially can cost well over $2,000 in a two year lifetime if you take the AT&T contract and prices of apps you may purchase into account. Surely, the iPhone is a lot more functional, but that comes at quite an increased price compared to the Kindle.
Are you an iPhone kind of person, or do your prefer the Kindle? Feel free to let your opinions out in the comments.

I have an 8G iPod touch and just finished reading a book on it by Ken Follett, all 3,922 pages of it. I use eReader and find yellow font on a black background very comfortable. Holding it is no problem, and if I am too lazy to flip pages, I switch to scrolling text. I’m looking for the next book to download.
