iWOW comes to iPod, updated iTunes plugin

by Alec Feld on Dec 11, 2008 at 07:22 AM

SRS iWOWRemember SRS Labs? They haven’t exactly been front and center lately, but they have released their famous iWOW sound for the iPod. You may be wondering how such a thing works, and the answer is, it’s a hardware adapter. Yes, the iWOW plug-in for iTunes has been brought to hardware.

The device plugs into your iPod’s dock connector and is compatible with iPod classic, iPod nano 3G, and iPod 5G. Along with this hardware adapter, SRS released iWOW Premium, which allows an assortment of different presets, preferences, and EQs to be applied to tracks in iTunes. The iWOW iPod adapter will run you a hefty $80, while the software will run a lighter $50. Of course, if you’re a true SRS fan, and you can’t live without your iWOW, you’ll need to be purchasing both of these. Luckily for you, SRS is offering the two as a bundle for $100. Here’s to better sounding music…hopefully.
