iTunes LP creation tools to be present in iLife 2010?

iDVD iconWant to create your very own iTunes LP?  If The Boy Genius Report’s source is to be trusted, it sounds like you’ll have the tools to do so in the next version of iLife.

The rumor states that, among other complete overhauls in the iLife suite, iDVD will have the tools to create your own iTunes LP, and then submit it to Apple. These tools are supposed to come with what we can tentatively refer to as iLife 2010. I think it’s fair to speculate that such tools would have templates off which to build. This could be a great tool for artists wanting to stimulate their audience with more than just audio.

If you just can’t wait that long, take a look at iTunesLP.net.  This site is full of information about Apple’s iTunes LP format.  Basically, it’s some specially structured XML, a .plist file and some other stuff.  It’s similar to a website enclosed inside of an .itlp file.  Yes, I know that sounds complicated, and that’s why you’ll probably just wait for iLife 2010, but hey, maybe you’re extra ambitious! Also of note, the iTunesLP.net site has some iTunes and AppleTV compatible albums that aren’t available on the iTunes Store. Even better, they are free. So maybe you’d just like to take a look at what others have done, which is fine too.
