iTunes + iRADIOmast = Internet Radio stations galore!

by Greg Healy on Jun 6, 2007 at 02:00 PM

Internet Radio has been in iTunes since v1.0. Since then, it has undergone a few changes, while still doing the same basic thing. I myself have never really gotten much use out of it, but it does seem like a good concept. If you are one who cannot get enough of that Internet Radio goodness, and have grown tired of the 300+ stations that iTunes provides, look no further than iRADIOmast.

iRADIOmast, the newest iTunes plug-in, adds thousands of choices to listeners’ basic play list with station formats ranging from talk to jazz to sports. By simply clicking the “Radio” icon located in the program’s left pane, streaming Internet radio is easily accessible. [...] The functionalities provided by the iTunes application are enormous. Subscribers are able to explore, find new artists and new music genres - the ultimate tool for a music lover with sophisticated tastes. It is iRADIOmast’s goal to become the ultimate directory of Internet radio and new music varieties.

iRADIOmast is a plug-in that you install right within iTunes. The plug-in is free, but in order for it to actually do anything, you have to purchase a subscription. Subscriptions are $4.95 for a monthly subscription, and $4.95 for a recurring subscription. Other notable features include: Commercial-free stations and more genres (comedy, anime, etc.) than what iTunes currently offers. A free 3 day trial is also available for anyone to take advantage of.

If you ever find that you aren’t getting good use out of those 7000 stations, uninstalling the plug-in will restore iTunes to normal. Though going from that many stations back down to 300 might be a bit of a disappointment.
