iSkin shows off new Mac & iPod gear

by Stephen Chinnadorai on Jan 21, 2008 at 10:26 PM

iSkin eVo 3 for iPod Classic I’ve always been a fan of iSkin’s Mac and iPod accessories. They are sometimes slightly more expensive than the competition in the iPod accessory area, but the quality of their products makes the price worth it. Like many other Mac and iPod related companies, iSkin have been showing off their latest gear at the Macworld Expo 2008.

They have demonstrated four new products:

  1. The first is the ProTouch - their well-known keyboard protector. It’s basically a colored silicone skin that you slip over your Mac’s keyboard and then it is protected from dirt, spills and bacteria. The new model uses Microban antimicrobial material to prevent the spread of disease. You can quickly and easily remove the skin to wash it. The skin is already available for $25, in blue, black, pink and frosted colors. Of course, the new ProTouch fits Apple’s new aluminium keyboards perfectly.
  2. The second is their new line of notebook bags: Redline. Each made of a single piece of leather with a minimal number of seams. Handles and straps are stitched into the base of the bags, and the findings are built of solid metal alloys. They have a modern minimal design, and match a MacBook Pro nicely. The release date and price are currently unknown for the Redline notebook bags.
  3. iSkin also released a new version of it’s eVo series of skins: The eVo3 Classic; as the name suggests, this is for the iPod Classic. The new case comes in black and translucent frost colors with the usual screen guard, anti-dust protection and rotating belt clip. It costs $35.
  4. They also announced that they will be coming out with a brand new case for the iPhone named “Fuze”. It’s going to be released in the second quarter of this year. It will have a polycarbonate exterior and a softer shock-absorbing interior.
